I hope this helps.

Body Approval List.. When will the list be updated for the outdoor race. I see many bodys going out of date before the event. I was looking to see if 1/10 TOURING CAR T2 PROTOFORM 1476-01 2-28-2008 will be legal or not for this event.

John,
That's quite an issue... it came up a few weeks ago regarding T2 bodies and the Global Body Specification rules in the rule book since 2007 and the bodies not passing the specifications. ROAR has extended the expiration dates on several bodies and each MFG knows they need to resubmit their bodies and change their specs to follow the rules, which should have been done prior to 1/1/08. The following was posted on the ROAR website a few weeks ago. Although the body you mention isn't on the list of extended bodies, it does fall under the same category.

The ROAR President, the ROAR Competition Director, the ROAR Technical Director, the Electric On Road Committee, the Body Approval Committee along with acceptance for the best interest of racing and the ROAR membership from the body manufacturing agents and in the best interest and the integrity of our Carpet Nationals event, has extended the expiration date of the following bodies to 3/31/08.

These bodies fall outside of the Global Body Specifications rules either by dimension testing or expiration and resubmission date, as per the rules published in 2007 and again without change in 2008. ROAR is working with the body companies regarding the GBS rules that have been in place and provided a courtesy reexamination of these bodies as they were not resubmitted as requested. ROAR has stated to these companies the bodies will fall off the approval list and will not return unless they are resubmitted for another courtesy evaluation and for those who failed in dimension testing, the errors are corrected.

There are no plans to provide another extension for the Paved On Road Nationals as ROAR feels one year plus several months is plenty of time to comply to published rules. Also, ROAR recommends to the membership to log into the approval list on several occasions prior to an event to verify the expiration dates of bodies and other products intended for use.

Any questions regarding the GBS rules, please contact Ruben Benitez at [email protected] or Tim Potter at [email protected] or David Lee at [email protected].

So Basically all bodies will be out of date for the Outdoor Nats.? Great we go topless!

Ok here you go.. My body has 1476 on the window.. The approved body till June/08 is *** Below.. How can we tell a 1476 from a 1476-00 or 01 (Mine is 01 "But NO 01 on window along the 1476)
1/10 TOURING CAR T2 PROTOFORM 1476-00 6-30-2008 *******
1/10 TOURING CAR T2 PROTOFORM 1476-01 2-28-2008

Great..Please ROAR work with the racers to get all going.. It has been a lot on your plate we know. Brushless,Lipos,Bodies..can we get thru these Nats with those small body exceptions till MFG can get this resolved.

Great, I just bought Parma 10220 Type "M" and Parma 10089 Alpha right before Christmas. Glad I only paid $10 each.

Seems to me that we (the racers who this affects) should focus this frustration toward the manufactures.

Maybe someone should organize some kind of demonstration like in those "stamp out smoking" adds.

Let me understand this.. the rule had been approved by the body companys in mid 2006, was in the book for 2007 that stated T2 bodies would expire 12/31/07 and all bodies needed to be resubmitted, free of charge, and follow the rules THEY themselves wrote by 1/1/08.... and this is a problem?

I am sorry they didn't follow the rules. We were not aware of that until just a few weeks ago. Therefore, we gave them a temporary extension to 3/31/08 to get it right - of which, they will.

Parma has already submitted one new body and Protoform, Parma and HPI have already begun their process of retooling the bodies they have.

Just relax.....

Yeah, I saw Parma has #10222 approved till 2011. But I can't find that body listed on Parma, Tower, Stormer, or anywhere. What body is it?
