-10 degree four dot insert on motor. 18 degree timing on controller and geared at 6fdr. RPM swith point around 7500-10000 rpm helps keep things a lot cooler as does current limiting to about 80-90 amps.

The GM and X12 do work well together and have very good top speed. Down side is the top end punch is a bit aggressive. Use the current limit function to tame it down a bit if you find it to aggressive. Also this setup was running at around 90-100c for me on a 25metre straight. Should run cooler for you and is still a perfectly safe limit for the x12. But if you want to be more cautious drop the main timing down on the controller a couple of degrees.

x12's seem very sensitive to gearing and heat. If you over gear they draw too much current and get hot. If you under gear and over rev they also get hot just as quickly. 6.2-5.9 seems to be the sweet spot for the 13.5 no matter what the layout is like. I have just stuck with 6fdr and used as much or as little timing as i could get away with (temperature wise) set on the controller. Always run the motor with -10 degree four dots facing out insert.

Glad its going well. Any more help needed then just ask away
Can't say anyone has been giving me trouble on the straight recently, in fact this weekend I was told by a CML driver that mine was a rocketship
Anyway, its not all about having that extra foot on the straight, I'd sooner be a tiny bit slower on the straight than have to put up with a Tekin on the infield, feel on the GM is amazing.

here it comes i used it with an x11 13.5T on a carpet track geared 6.2fdr. however, next race will be on a large outdoor track with a 60meter straight and a demanding infield. wonder how low i can go with the gearing before cooking motor or esc!? 5.5? 5.0? anybody tried this?
