The new S400 front and rear arms are stiffer? Are these meant for carpet racing? For asphalt racing, how will the stiffer arms change the feel of the car: maybe it will react more, but doesnt this sacrifice traction a bit?
What about the arms durability? Are stiffer arms stronger in general?

SMC4000, Orion 3200, CORE3250 fit with out mods.
Orion 3600 fits, but you have shave off about .5mm from bulkhead or battery to get it to slide in.
Orion 4800, CORE5000, Trackpower 4900, etc: these 23mm plus packs don't fit, so you have to to just sit them next to the bulkhead and have them sit out about 7-8mm out from chassis.

The Stiffer arms keep the suspension geometry in check. they resist flexing while accelerating, turning and braking. They would possibly be a slight negative on a stock car, but a 10.5 or mod car they become a essential to keep all items in check, even with less traction as the motor power is so exsessive and can torque the suspension arms.

As far as durability of the new arms goes, they aren't "normal" for a stiff arm design. I'm guessing the plastic is the same (which has held up great for me) but they just have the carbon fiber plates in them which we already know is a super strong material. I wouldn't use them on low grip tracks, but medium to high grip tracks they should be fine.

The stiffer arms are geared more towards carpet racing. Stiffer arms make the car work through the suspension components as opposed through arm flex and the suspension. However, for asphalt racing the standard arms will most likely be best unless you race indoor asphalt like SIR where the bite is insane.

Since you guys have both run the rear gear diff in your cars, what range of oil should I buy to cover the typical range of traction. I will be racing outdoor rubber mod and 10.5 on low to med-high bite track. Expected asfault temps are about 60* to 90*.

Tim covered it well. I would only add 1000wt to the list in the event that you are on a low bite track. Other than that, 3-5k should be good almost anywhere.

Anyone know of any on-line shops in the US carrying Serpent S400 parts? Need some Castor blocks, suspension blocks, steering, knuckles, etc...
Stormer hobbies is supposedly going to carry a bunch of parts, for the past 3 months all they have on their site is: backorder

With the exeption of MDI Racing- I think he's the only one taking care of racers and they might just have what I need---Butter will give me call back soon and update
I just wanna get on the website order and in 2-3 days get my order, as if ordering from Tower, Speedtech, Nexus Racing, or Stormer.
