There used to be a bar in the "mall" where our track is. When we had Wednesday night racing (when we had a turnout), I would get my stuff setup and head over to the bar for a beer. The beer would calm my nerves while driving. It actually helped me out. I'm not advocating anyone do this but it worked for me.

Beer is good on any occasion.
I had a break from racing for a while.... when when i started up aggain i showed up about an hour before anyone else! So i decided so sink a few scooners at the local and.... Not too bad. Think it help the pre race conversation (or not depending on your view). By race time i felt fine aggain anyways.

Next race i will be taking a beer or two though just to have a go...

No one does it like us ozzies!

So a littel bit of liquor calm's me down from exploding and get on with the job.
PS speekin to bill before a race dulls the sensors to much

Ahhh.... Another saturday night at the track! Not pissed out but deffinatly feelin the good vibes!

Couple of scooners at the local pub before racing i think its healthy! Decided to make it a ritual and try and get some other people dpwn there (people who arent soft, or under 18). Who knows if enough people get to the pub we might not want to race just get on it instead! Not talkin bout racin but i can think of a few instances where ive had a few before needing to do somethin and just stayed drinkin

This is normal for me otherwise I can't take the turns. It is the same what they tell you about sex before an important match. They tested it and the people who had sex before the game were more relaxed than those who didn't. So in my opinion: before a heat go to the bar drink a beer and then drive: it is good for the clubregister
