It seems to be the case although it works fine using the JR-link anyway. It has sharper response with a standard link and you can tune it a bit better with spacers unlike the JR which has only 2 settings.
Here are some youtube videos from last weekends EP nats here in oz. I am car No.4 (Green). Not some of my best driving but the car looks great against some of the others with some very nice high speed turn-in.

Are there any low friction belts available for this car?
Also what spurs/pinions should I keep on hand for 17.5 rubber on carpet? I have the Flying Fox layshaft...

With the 116 i can go up or down a reasonable amount on the pinions to account for long or short straights.

Its more to do with the properties of the track. I don't think I had the setup perfect as there are a lot of new elements in my setup that I didn't have much exp with. I think the car was faster with the heavier springs I had earlier but I also didn't get the chance to test same springs all round.

Thanks to everyone who made suggestions to curb my traction rolling. Made a ton of changes, the car got faster with nearly every change, and finally curbed the traction roll during the A-main by leaning the shocks in further on the tower. Grabbed fastest lap in 17.5 along with the win, although the competition also stepped up their lap times so I need to keep working on the setup to find one that can be driven more aggresively.

Hello guys and gals.
I was wondering what is important when looking for a new rc car to all of you? I have been racing nitro touring for a few years and I decided to try eletric scene for a bit.
At first glance I was leading towards the TC5R, but after looking around this forum I been reading about the Losi JRXS Type-R due to its design. As I have been reading trough this thread I have not seen any major issues that "you" the drivers have been experiecing, but the only issue that stand out to me is the location of the esc (as my driving is not the best yet) has anyone created a guard for the esc which will protect it a bit?
Thanks for your time.
Thanks, Jason.
