When I am looking at set-up sheets, I notice that they have a hex spacing setting setting. My question is what is it, and what does it do to the way the car works?

Also if it is a shim, is there a part # to what I will need for that setting?

yes, they are shims placed on the axle before the tire goes on...

most guys use ones from Tamiya...

I'm using washers from the hardware store that cost about 10 cents each. Not super fancy, but they work just fine.

Has anyone tried running shorter camber links? I mean by using the outer hole position on the shock tower camber link mount.

Josh H always seems to run the shorter links in the front. From what I can tell, never having tried it, it makes the front of the car respond a little faster. I say this because it seems like a longer link will make the car roll more and seem a little lazy. Plus it increases camber change.

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

that's the spacers i use.

has anyone had problems with the wheel nuts coming off when using hex spacers? i noticed that after i install my spacers and wheel, when i put on the wheel nut it doesn't thread on all the way into the nylock part of the nut. are you guys using a dab of thread lock on there?

Put the nut on backwards or find a low profile wheel nut. HPI makes a wheel nut that does not have the nylock. It has teeth, so to say, to bite into the wheel surface.

Kraig..............I would love to tell you your wrong...........but I don't think you are.

I don't like the feel of a short link with alot of angle but a short link that is parallel with the arm seems to produce the feel I am looking for.

The team guys have started using this lock nut for the wheels, AE#89216.
It's steel and seems to have a better locking mechanism.
