I never had any issues with the 4-gear hooking up on high bite clay. I remember when we went from 4-gear to 3-gear stand up gear boxes and we had to set the car up a bit differently for it to work but at the end of the day it was better. I assume it'll be the same thing with the laydown gear boxes, 4 gear will be easier to setup out of the gate but 3 gear will end up being better.
Speaking of 4 gear cars, I hear there's one for sale that is loaded with upgrades.

Anyone notice the nose jumps a little high in the xb2 laydown (16 edition)? Wondering if having 2 xray brass hangers is contributing albeit they are not that heavy. also, will the 3 gear rotate forward more in the air? thx

I plan to revisit once I get the 3 gear and add some weight in the battery tray

Haven't driven mine in awhile as i'm waiting for the laydown, but don't have the luxury of battery forward, as I drive on clay. Run stock buggy so don't want to add a 40 gram brass bulkhead. Wonder if the buggy was just designed with more weight forward and adding brass rear hangers is just exacerbating the problem or if I have setup issues elsewhere. Only other thing unique about the buggy compared to others is a lot of front droop.

I'm converting back to the laydown transmission, but I am finding a hard time with the transmission case fitting with the bearings for the driveshaft supplied with the Carpet edition. Did anyone encounter the same fitment problem? I got the first batch RCAmerica edition that came with the free ball diff. I don't recall having that problem during the initial laydown build, unless I omitted the bearing going to the driveshaft.

Just ordered the 3 gear laydown parts for my DE XB2. Does anyone know what hardware/screws I need to order for the conversion? I saw this in the Wiki but this was CE to DE
'dgrobe2112: CE to DE conversion:
along with the parts needed.. you MUST have these following hardware, or it wont work
https://www.teamxray.com/xb2/2016/do...conversion.pdf
(3) XRAY 902340 M3x40 button head screws. these are the screws that mount the motor mount to the tranny
(4) XRAY 903322 M3x22 counter sunk screws. these are for the rear diff case, to mount to the chassis. i think i used some M3x18 and they worked ok.'
