Welcome to the EB48.3 Wiki

What option parts should I consider buying with a new kit?
None are required but we recommend the following:

Springs:
Low Grip Track:
TKR8772 – Yellow Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8762 – Grey Low Frequency Front Springs

Low to Medium Grip Track:
TKR8773 – Orange Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8763 – Black Low Frequency Front Springs

Medium to High Grip Track:
TKR8774 - Red Low Frequency Rear Springs and TKR8764 - Pink Low Frequency Front Springs

TKR5199B – HRC Rear Hubs (L/R, CV or uni, EB/NB/ET/NT48/48.3) - Improves stability of the rear on mid to corner exit. Able to be on power earlier on corner exit.

TKR6146 - CNC Delrin Shock Cartridge Set

TiNi Shock Shafts
-TKR6017T (front)
-TKR6061T (rear)

This car is very durable. Here are the spare parts that I recommend you keep on hand:
TKR5020 – Hinge Pins (inner, front/rear)
TKR6061T – Rear Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating and TKR6017T – Front Shock Shafts w/ TiNi Coating
TKR5286 – Front Suspension Arms and TKR5184 – Rear Suspension Arms
TKR5194 – Spindle Carriers
TKR6009 – Shock O-Ring and Bladder Set (for 2 shocks)

Tips and Tricks

List of Vehicle Setup Adjustments and Build Tips can be found here. There are several videos and articles detailing the building of shocks, diffs, camber links, etc.

Page 3 Step K-3
Put the screw in upside down so that the head of the screw is in the hex spot that's molded into the spindle. This will aid in clearance in full droop / full steering.

Page 12 Step I-2
Use no less than 4 shims on the steering spindle to limit steering throw. I actually just use one 2mm ball stud washer from my 10th scale stuff since each shim is .5mm.

Setup Sheets:
Setup sheets for all Tekno RC vehicles can be found here.

Warranty Policy:
Tekno RC is the only company in the industry that will give 50% off of parts if returned to them using the General Warranty return policy found on their website. The parts can be lightly used or completely abused, as long as the part is still being produced it's covered!

Piston Drills:
Some of our setups recommend using pistons that are enlarged. For instance 4x1.9 or 3x2.0. To drill the pistons we recommend the following:
GMK Supply Piston Drill Set
16PC Metric Bit Set Metric Sizes 2.00 to 3.00 MM.

what diff oil brand is everybody using? I keep seeing where people post what diff oils they like but nobody says what brand. I use AE oil and I have heard the AE oil feels thicker than PT oils by about 2. So if I am running AE oils 7-7-5 should it feel like 9-9-7 PT oil? The manual calls for 5-5-5. Does anybody know if those are closer to PT or AE? I just don't want to go too heavy by using AE diff oils. Do any of you have experience in this? Thanks!!

When I asked Tekno, I was told the kit diff oils where about the same as PTRC. I was running 775 PTRC. Now I'm trying 10/10/7 PTRC. Only one race, but I like the 10/10/7 too. If your track is loose, you prob want to run lighter diff oils. Else, I would think 775 or 774 assoc would be good unless you are having problems.

Thanks!! I have 7-7-5 associated but I haven't run it yet. It is a new build. I run 7-7-5 associated in my sct410.3 and it seems to work pretty good

How much grease should you put on the differential ring gear inside the gearbox? some people say put a layer of grease all the way around on the gears, others say just put a few dabs of grease in like 4 different spots. How much do you need? Whenever I clean my diffs it is all over in the diff case. Is this normal?

They say AE diff oil is approx 2k thicker. This is why I'm trying.

Ran this today for first time, indoor medium size with medium/high grip clay. Ran the kit setup and wasn't expecting much but honestly the buggy was pretty damn good, only change I made was ride height at 27-27. Next time out going to play with things more was trying to get things worked in and freed up. Another nice kit Tekno, great easy build and decent performance right out the gate

Same thing happened to me when I first took my buggy out to the track. Everyone who switched to a different brand said the buggy was really hard to drive and I had no problems driving it. I was really suprised on how it handles and how well it performed stock.

Yea I put it together for outdoor this summer but decided to break it in on our indoor clay being still winter here. Buggy was actually not far off from the feel I like on indoor clay with the stock setup. A few tweaks and some diff oil changes and my guess is it will be a rocket for me. Hobbywing XR8 with SMC 1900 motor works very well, with 18T it is very smooth with great power everywhere.

I saw a lot of setup sheets were using pink springs in the front and red in the rear. Are those springs stiffer or softer? Also why do you think they run them for so many different tracks? Also what springs do you guys run on a bumpy medium grip track?

Track conditions, type of track and driving style very from each individual.

Here's a chart for the available Tekno Springs.

I'm running Green Front & Yellow Rear with 4x1.8 Pistons
