Just added the 2-30 gram brass battery plates that is offered my SMC. Fit perfectly next to my shorty pack. Nice and snug and took the place of one of the small foam spacers. I will see how it changes the truck tomorrow

THis is not Formula1, maintaining a tolerance of 0.1mm is not really an issue. drill them out, slap them in and drive.

I ran the Club race last night...

First qualifier I used my regular shorty battery, the truck felt ok but a little squirly. For the second qualifier I borrowed a friend's square pack to see how the truck responded and I really liked the change...I had to drive the truck a little differently, but i found that the extra weight really settled the truck down...it flew and landed more predictably and I was able to drive it harder into turns.

I will be buying a couple of square packs now...

If that were the attitude, then one would just run 2x1.6 (which is readily available) wouldn't they? Just as Cavalieri is in the example I'll give again. You do realize there is a substantial difference in the oil weight one needs to use. He's using 2x1.5 front and 2x1.6 rear. He seems to feel there is a difference. If you don't, cool...then simply don't feel the need to add to the thread...

my GMK shock piston drill set. I pulled the 1.70mm drill set out and measured with my digital calipers. Guess what...exactly 1.70mm

In my book, thats precision. This is why AE makes blank pistons, so people can make their own custom sets.

I would drill them out no larger than 1mm and then use a small drill bit holder or wrap some tape around the end of the final size you want the holes to be and drill them by hand slowly. I have a piston drill bit set that I purchased a while back that has the small bit holder for doing this by hand and it has always worked very well.
