Been busy and haven't kept up in a few days, but...

Tonight after work, I changed to the optional 54t spur gear and went up 2 teeth on the pinion. Now my gearing is 13/54.

I'll test it out tomorrow/today depending on what everyones time zone is.

I need to pick up a 17 pinion and give that a try.

The other day the back right wheel started bouncing like crazy and at the same time the rear end is really bouncy is the a broken diff or rear gear box? Ty

Sounds like a wheel balance issue. Try switching the wheels left to right and see if the problem follows the wheel or stays on the same side. Also check hub bearings, axle bent, drive pins coming out and hitting something, etc.

Well, today I drove the cutback with the new gearing. I went ahead and finally installed the optional 54t spur ear and went a 15t pinion. I was going to try the stock pinion and at first but noticed when trying to get the gear mesh just right.. the meshing was too loose feeling so I went ahead and put a 13t pinion.

That out of the way..

It was like night and day. The truck screamed across my yard and tore things up. Much better. I am pleased.

Next time I run, I'll check the temps. I didn't do so today. Though I did notice the motor was lukewarm.

Finally tried it on 3s with the 17/54 gearing. It moves! But like it's been mentioned, the esc is programming is a little weird on 3s. It's almost like turbo lag, it goes like it's at full throttle on 2s, then just goes again, like enough to ovalize the tires again fast.

Only did a few mins, motor was hot, had already dumped a 2s through it. Couldn't keep my finger on the motor for more than 3-4 seconds.

I bet it flew on 3s.
I am happy on 2s after chaning the gearing to 13/54.

How many runs did you get before this happened?

Mine did it seconds after plugging in and prepping to run this truck for the first time. (same day it arrived)
