I'm racing an event next week and I decided to race all stock classes. I swapped out my 1S D4 13.5 and swapped in a new 1S D4 17.5. Its super dog-ass slow. I geared it @ 24/75 and started with the timing at 50. I eventually turned it up to 58 degrees....still really slow. Its my understanding that you need to gear down a couple teeth for the short stack. Was I wrong? Its pathetic! The shortstack I put in by B5M is reasonably fast. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently geared 75/26 w/ shy 50 degree timing. 125-135 after a main on indoor clay

Here is some fun club racing action of my T5m. Going head to head against Kyosho team driver Evan Overmars. Doing my best to hold it together till the very end... with a crazy last lap! Lots of fun.

My truck was a LITTLE off pace as I was running brand new tires... but I made up for it with fewer mistakes. Ended up taking the win by mere inches.

Wow, that was close race, congrats. Tacoma is a tight little track. So was Yoshi in that race? Maybe the red truck in 3rd.

Thanks! I didn't have a 26 but with the timing way up and a 25 it was pretty good. I'm going to have to pick up a 26.

Yoshi? Racing 17.5? He wouldn't be caught dead! He's a mod only guy, and would mop the floor with me No, he was away at some regional race somewhere, kicking some butt.

I've raced Harley before, but in 13.5. Yeah, he is one of those kids that makes the quad when everyone else can only make the triple.

That's interesting to watch. Looks like a fun layout. The track doesn't look small but then again the lanes are super narrow. Is the clay dry or damp? If my eyes aren't deceiving me it looks wet but I could swear I could see it cracking in spots. I don't run a ton of indoor but that's different in comparison to the type of clay I've seen here in SOCAL.

The track is pretty small.. but not obnoxiously so. I think its 85 feet long? (im not exactly sure). 10 cars in a main feels a little cramped... 8 feels good.

The clay is dry. Usually watered at night, and is mostly dry by the time we get in. There is moisture IN the clay, but I wouldn't call it damp (at least by the time the races start). We run clay compound jconcepts dirtwebs, proline electrons (what I am running in this race), and sometimes barcodes.

Anybody dining a lightweight lipo. Seems like a decent priced way to drop 60ish grams. Just wondering if it changes the handling characteristics. Also curious as to which titanium accessories save the most weight. I'll eventually do both but don't know whether turnbuckles or screw kit will give the most bang for your buck.
