Any benefit in running a centre smart diff over the stock diff? Mostly used for bashing.

The smart diff seems to be used mostly by the nitro drivers - the combination of engine delay & clutch delay was counter balanced by the speed of the Smart Diff and helps get the power to the ground quicker.

The 'instant' response of any 1/8 scale electric motor is faster than the purely mechanical response of the Smart Diff.

Even for bashing, it would just be more parts to wear out and need tweaking. There's a set (center diff and front diff) on eBay right now. I almost hit the Buy It Now button, but stopped myself. LOL!

Yeah due to how electric power is more instant you can really feel the smart diff engage and it makes the car react a little funny. I would not recommend the smart diff in an "E" car. I tried it back with the 2.0 and did not like it at all.

For those of you that run and love the 8ight E 3.0 and want your buddies to run it too, we have now reduced the kit pricing to a MAP of 579.99.

Hi guys
Just finished reading this long novel on the 3.0 Ebuggy and yes i just purchased one about 3weeks ago .
ive been losi for 5 plus years now and look forward to trying it out this weekend at my first race and it has not seen the track yet either..lol..
Im from Ontario Cananda so running indoor right now till spring and have the DRAKE set-up to start..well sort of... with freezing temps i dropped the oils to 25wt in both front and rear of shocks..
The facility has heated pits but i plan to keep it outside of that to keep it consistent...
i very much enjoyed the build and did not have any issues at all..a sweet build!!!
just wanted to say thanks for all the info on this thread.very helpful..
i will let you know how i did at this race as im the only one out of 40 with the 3.0 E-buggy kit...one other guy i know has the E conversion 3.0 one but i waited for this one to come out as i just knew based on the scte 2.0 platform change that they would do the same with the buggy..glad i waited..
cheers
john
