I am happy to say that the HPI Trophy Buggy Flux body fits the D8 E- Conversion ( Smiley Edition ). There was very little work to make it fit. Since the body is a RTR body, all the trimming has been done. A new rear body post hole has to be drilled and the body has to be trimmed about 3mm next to the rear shock tower. Not real thrilled that it is a RTR body with HPI paint scheme though.

I bought all the conversion parts off of Ebay but you can get them individually from a couple of places. Check this post for part numbers:

Smiley Conversion

I did not use the Losi battery tray though. I used the tray for the HPI Trophy Buggy Flux.

I've seen the orange aluminum top plate break. So that won't take much.

I saw Ty won the electric class at the Neobuggy race, does anyone know what conversion he used? It looks like the radio box is mounted way in the back by the position of the antenna tube. I don't know what conversion lays the car out like that. Something new from HB?

Started putting my Vorza conversion parts together. Two things, do you just flip the center diff mount spacers and do you dremel off some material from the front side center diff mount half.

There is another guy at the club with a D812 who recommended Smiley's setup as a base and work from there. So I put it together, changed all my diff oils and shock oils and changed the anti squat. These changes made a huge difference but just not enough to stablise the rear end. The track is clay and at the time was low grip and rough. The front end was also dropping into the ground. It seemed front heavy as well.

At the track I dropped the punch from the ESC and tried to drive it softer. I tried a few suspension changes and I just could not get the back end to settle down.

I took the car home and rebuilt it on the tekno chassis. I didn't change any of the setting I had made at the track and took the car back to the track. The car was instantly drivable. The rear end was more stable and was easily correctable in the air.

The tekno chassis suits my driving style just nicely.
What springs and oil are you running? I'm just putting my Tekno V4/HB812 together and need a starting point

On Tessmann's V4/D812 at the Nitro challenge he ran:

Front: 1.3x6, 32.5 oil, 35 when hot out, 18mm rebound, Gold Springs
Rear: 1.3x6, 27.5 oil, 30 when hot out, 18mm rebound, yellow springs

Hi Ricky,

I'm running associated oil. 385 weight oil with blue hb springs on the front and 425 weight oil with HB green springs on the rear. I'm using losi 1.3 8 hole pistons all round.

I have 25 mm ride height in the front and 27mm in the rear.

This is our track that I have it set up for. My car is starting at the front of the grid.

excuse the driving. Most of us are beginners. Our club has only had an electric class for the last 2 race series.

The car is still a tad tail'y though I'm not quite sure how to dial it our yet. We have our state titles this weekend coming with a few pros entering so hopefully I can get some advice
