Default Offset Hexes

Anybody using positive offset wheel hexes up front? I have +1.5 mm front hexes and that results in not enough wheel nut thread engagement. Are there longer stub axles to enable these offset hexes?

I run the low profile JConcepts M4 nuts. The serrations on them are really good but over time you'll have to replace them to keep them fresh. I find the front goes through a lot more stress than the rear so it's important to have good wheel nuts.

I have a couple questions...
1. Is the servo linkage supposed to be angled like this. When I turn left the linkage almost touches the top deck plate. It doesn't but there is probably only about .001" between the linkage and the bottom of the top deck. I am using an alum horn not one of the plastic ones. so maybe that is why. If I drop the linkage down one hole on the arm the linkage hits the top of the servo at full turn left.

Is the slipper assembly supposed to be able to move back and forth in the mount? Or should it be shimmed so there is no back and forth movement? I am used to 8th scale buggies with a CD. I have never had a slipper before. I am also wondering is this slipper just as good as a CD? With a CD power is transferred front to back as needed. I don't see how the slipper would do that. So it seems like on the xb4 power can only be transferred side to side through the front and rear diffs? Or am I looking at this wrong?
If you want to stick to an aluminum servo horn, the Hudy one is the same height as is the Racers Edge clamping horn. It's important that they're the same height or you'll end up with the same problem you're experiencing now, or if it's too low then the steering link will hit the servo case.

The slipper assembly should have some play back and forth, about 1mm, to deal with chassis flex. If you put shims in there, as the chassis flexes there will be considerable load on the 10x15 bearings holding the slipper.

Some guys like the center diff, other guys like the center diff. I feel as though the center diff is easier to drive and has more traction, especially in sweepers, but the slipper has a much more direct feeling and gives better rotation. My rule of thumb is if it's a loose track, run the diff, if it's high bite, run the slipper.

You can try a TLR front wheel nut as they are a bit thinner than stock.

Why are you running the front so wide?

I'm actually just trying to match the original front width while using AKA front 12 mm hex wheels.

Don't hit the pipe so hard If the ball cups are susposed to pop off if you hit something hard enough to prevent something else breaking. However if the cup starts to get loose it will pop easier. I typically replace them after poping off 2-3 times of If I feel i didn't hit hard enough for it to pop

Hi guys, xb4 2015 newbie here. I just bought the kit, but I saw somewhere there were issues with rear toe ? like people were saying Xray was sending replacement parts to customers to fix the issue for free? ... any other "Problems" in this kit that I should know?

There was a problem with the rear toe block being machined incorrectly. If your kit hasn't been sitting on the shelf for the past 8 months you will be OK. Xray fixed it earlier this year. If interested there is ample reading on page 444 of this thread. If by chance you have an "old" kit contact RC America and they will replace the rear toe block for free. Enjoy your car, it's awesome!
