Well I ran the car for the first time last night. Was thoroughly impressed. After I changed out the pistons for 2 hole 1.6's on all 4 corners the car was just as good as my B5M that I've been dialing in for a few months. Car seems to jump a lot better, as well as creates some more forward bite than I can get out of my 5M. Really happy with it so far and am looking forward to running it more

Kiddo got TQ and a win in novice and I got 3rd in mod buggy.
We run this car 10 times in a race night. Tonight we did 11. It get tortured. ZERO broken parts all day. Performed awesome. We did have a heat issue though. It was over 90 in there today and lots of motors getting hot. Mine did a thermal shutoff once and we had to improvise.

Ordering a fan tomorrow along with a bigger spur. What body will give me more clearance back there?? I have an idea to mount the fan in the front window and duct it across the SC and motor. I doubt I ever buy another SC that doesn't have heat sinks.

Oh I'm running 20/76. Motor is right against the trans.
Think that's too tall for a 8.5? It feels right on the track. It's wound out at the end of the straight.

SUPER STOKED about the podium btw!!

Hello All,

Just finished building up my new 2015 RB6 in mid motor config. What a great car! All the parts are of excellent quality as you would hope with a kit of this caliber and price. It seems to come with all the best parts, although I was surprised to see plastic for the RF and RR pivots so I opted for the alum upgrades from Kyosho. Especially after reading about them here in this thread and the possible roll center options. Very trick. I had a similar setup on my DEX410.

Couple of quick questions for all of you. What are your favorite wheels for the car? and why? JConcepts Mono? AKA HExlite? Etc....

For those of you running shorty down the middle with electronics next to the servo, did you cut your battery strap or just use an aftermarket CF version? I'll post a pic in a bit.

Thanks in advance!

Hey guys. Any advice would be appreciated:

What setup changes should I be looking at to yield more steering under acceleration? I have to be off power with 10% drag or braking to get the car to turn.

Front tires are AKA 3 rib and I can't get back on the power as soon as I'd like at corner exit, even lightly and smoothly on the power.

Track is outdoor low to medium traction dirt, running 17.5. Thx!

Give the AKA EVO Pinstripes a try up front, I wasn't getting enough steering with 3 or 4 ribs, to me they felt lazy. That was the recommendation from my answer man. The ribs don't seem to react as fast as a tire with treads on a light buggy. They have been good for me with SS Impacts out back.

I have been tuning an already great 17.5 chassis and the results have made me very happy. We had a big 17.5 event at my home track the weekend before last and I was happy to see my RB6 weigh in at just 1513g. I knew it was light but that is pretty close to the 1499g limit, after a few races with her and some minor changes I ended up placing 5th after the double A-mains.

Cheers!

Cool. Thanks for the tips. Do you run the Pinstripes with the supplied red inserts?
