A ways back I found out the servo in the pics is a Spektrum S6040. The Spektrum micro receiver looks like it barely fits in the gap. It will be interesting to see if there is enough room to stand a larger receiver (or one that isnt as rectangar) to stand on end without hitting the body.

Yeah....that's exactly why I'm asking the question. Looks like it's gonna be a tight fit for alot of electronics.

Are there any TOP DOWN pictures of ready to race cars in both configuration for us to look at?

I just measured the area behind the servo (Spektrun 6040) to the battery brace of my 22 in rear engine configuration and found the following dimensions:

For/Aft (servo to battery brace): 28mm

Side to side (flat portion of chassis): 56.5mm

Height of chassis plate to body: 40mm

So the area to mount reciever/transponder etc. is 28L x 56.5W x 40H

The front windshield starts pretty far forward so height over this area is adequate.

Speedo Tray mount Dimensions (Over Battery) in Rear Engine Configuration:

38mm L x 43mm W x 37mm H

Hope this helps!

So, it sounds like a standard Spektrum SR3000 DSM 3-Channel Receiver might not fit then....or just barely.

And of coarse ideas from other companies get incorporated in some way or another, that is just how things work and how our hobby progresses. Look at the all the forward cab bodies on the market now....started with the Losi truggy that Dyno designed....it all comes around in some form or another.
It wasn't meant to "tear down" the new buggy, it was actually suppose to be a compliment regarding how they have taken some existing concepts that have been showing up in 1/10 scale racing and put them together in a nice package.

I know Durango didn't invent the aluminum chassis (we can probably let AE have that one) and I know Yokomo didn't invent the larger bore shock bodies (we can probably give that one to the 1/8 scale world). But they did introduce (or re-introduce) the concepts back into 1/10 scale recently.

I'm a fan of Losi, have been since the 80's. I'm glad they are getting something new out in 1/10 off-road. I was merely pointing out that they put a nice package together incorporating some of the recent trends. It wasn't a slam or an accusation that they "stole" ideas or technologies.

Sorry some of you are so sensitive.

The outdrives are lightened.

The 22 is going to be a refreshing key piece to bringing back buggy racing in a lot of areas. If it is anything like the SCT which is so easy to drive fast with this is going to be a win win for everyone!

New car looks Awesome Todd(and TLR crew)! Glad to see "Team" and "Racing" back in Team Losi Racing!

The gas stuff has been doing very well, but Electric is where the drivers and heritage are and have been all along.

Got a chance to check out the new car yesterday in the hands of Billy Fischer. Looks very cool... Billy made a few changes and it looked better each time it hit the track.
