What are CVDs and diffs?
Physically on my truck, what(where) are CVDs and the diffs?

Are you serious? .....NO, I'm Just Kidding! The CVD's are the drive shafts that connect from the transmission case to the rear wheels. Those things sticking out of of each side of the transmission case are your diff halfs....if you take your transmission out and apart, the big gear with the most "buisness" to it, is the diff. If its not outside the car, you can't see it.

CVD's : constant velocity drives They do the same thing as dog bones, except they have less play because the there is no lower half shaft to wiggle in.
a Diff ifferential : splits the input (power comming from spur gear) in 2 outputs so each wheel can be powered and drive the car)

ok thanks everyone, but i think corvette helped get it across--so it's not just one part or two, but its more of a whole casing?
and so CVDs are just improved dogbones?

The threads are where you screw on the wheel. The CVD reduces slop by making one of the dog bone ends "solid" (they are not really solid since they rotate and move and the joint) CVD's are generally stronger than the dogbone setup also. So yeah they are improved dogbones, although they will cost you more bones too...(more money)
Diff: yes they are a bunch (I cant give an exact number because there can be different numbers depending on the diff) of gears that transfer the power from 1 input to 2 outputs. Most are cased in plastic, although Aluminum cases are avaible(I wouldn't advise using one though).
We all didn't know this info at some point and had to learn it, your learning time is now and there is nothing wrong with that. Keep asking questions and you will keep learning

Ok thanks vette. Now i got most of it, cept im still missin a few pieces.
As far as what the CVDs actually do , im kinda foggy on that...
And the differentials....also kinda foggy on exactly what they do.

CVD's take the power from the diff and transpher it down to the wheels. That is their job.
as for the diff and what it actually does. The best description I have is that it takes the power from 1 source and splits it into 2...sorry I cant put it into any words that make more sense Its a tough thing to explain.

A differential's main purpose is during turning..the outside tire has to travel a further distance than the inside tire, and a differential ensures that the outside tire will spin faster.

OOoooh ok thanks Aaron (and Vette) now i know what the differential is all about. And yes, I'm sure I understand everything haha. It has be come clear....
