Yeah, I thought that was him under the water! I'm sure he needed a little hazing...

Default The bowl

How exactly does the bowl section work? I have never seen one of those before and the picture did not show enough.

hyperdriver - The bowl is about a 4 ft deep pit right infront of the driver's stand that has a section of pipe leading into it so you have to manuever your way around. Here's a pic of it - the pipe isn't connected as it was unfinished at the time, but It's the only aerial shot I have of it. Did I mention that section was fun? lol.

Is it a 180 deg turn or a jog in the straight?

That bowl looks like it would be a blast.

Brent Thielke Assumes Racing Team Manager Position at Associated

We at Team Associated would like to introduce Brent Thielke (THELL kee).
Brent, of Gilbert, Arizona, is relocating to Associated's Southern
California offices to assume the responsibilities of our Racing Team
Manager.

He is a well-known off road specialist who has been racing for Team
Associated for the past four years, with solid A-Main finishes in the truck
and buggy classes at the past two Cactus Classis races, and has a NORRCA
National Expert Mod title to his credit.

The 28-year-old Thielke graduated from Arizona State University with a BS
in Management, and is enthusiastic about his new position at Team
Associated. One of his goals is to shift the emphasis and focus on the Team
toward more regional events, and to actively seek out and cultivate new
regional talent.
lmunno: Yeah thanks for that heads up! I get the Associated Newsletter as well but haven't had the chance to check my e-mail account for quite some time! I know Associated can't pay for as many drivers as others can (nor as high) so it's probably best that they resort to the strategy of cultivating new and young talent - probably like a Ryan Mayfield!

AE has been paying more drivers higher salaries than any other company. Also, AE's team has always been bigger than anyone else's.
