I'm extremely happy with the +8 Dimec 20 Type B chassis actually. I don't think I'll even upgrade to the Aluminum when it's released.

Hey guys, new to the TD products. Has anybody looked at making the DEX into the DESC? Parts compatibility/ crossover? Thoughts... other than just buy the truck...
Thanks.

Jeff

It's a lotta work. The steering rack and the transmission is the only thing in common.

So you'd need the arms, hubs, wheels, body, shocks, shock towers, turnbuckles, chassis, bumpers.

Wrong thread but I strongly advise you to get the non "R" 410. You'll spend at least $50 upgrading to the non "R" parts when, not if the "R" parts break. Mainly the suspension hangers.

There are heaps of parts shared between the vehicles, but the cost of the parts that aren't makes it not worthwhile. You would need arms, turnbuckles, shocks, shock towers, chassis, bumpers, front hubs and axles, body mounts and several other parts.

The low price at Tower is really tempting me. Is the 210 good out of the box or does it need a ton of upgrades?

I like that buggy class is growing and companies are really giving us a larger than ever choice of cars for this class. Downfall is at least when it was pretty much Associated and Losi for 90% of the cars we didn't have companies making cars every year or less. Not it is getting just like touring cars with a new car every 6 months to a year and raising the prices just like with touring cars. Its following the same cycle that killed touring car racing because of the car of the month club. Yes you don't have to buy but who wants the older stuff as it just gets hard to find parts unless you buy the latest and greatest.

Does Durango make an aluminum RF hanger? The only one I could find is Tresrey.

No. I think exotek and RDRP also make them. Rcjunky1 here on the forums makes one also.

I've updated the site slightly, the newer aftermarket list for the dex210 can be found here http://durangofansite.com/DEX210aftermarket.php

The DIMEC20 is stiffer, less flex than the standard DIMEC
