Default Original SCX10 Drivetrain Strength

I've been using a 35t motor in my SCX10 for quite awhile now. I'm just wondering if the drivetrain can handle a 27t motor. I know these are made to go slow, just wondering if I'm likely to break stuff with a power upgrade.

Pretty much anything can handle a 27 turn motor.....

I have a wraith, which is the same drivetrain as a SCX10 I believe? I put a 15 turn motor in that and stripped the idler after a short period of idiocy. So should be fine if you go well beyond that.

I'm not sure. I bought it as a new slider in 2015.

If it has plastic gears upgrade to metal and then you can run anything.

Thanks for the tip. I know the original SCX10 has been discontinued for some time now, do you know how parts support is?

^Pretty epic, seeing that it was around for a few years and everyone and their dog had one and also made all kinds of hop up parts for it. Plus most of the drivetrain parts are shared with the RR10 Bomber and Wraith.

vabile

You are able to get most parts yet, they are still using the same transmission, just has a new housing and metal gears. You could also try an element rc trans, then you can get overdrive for the front.
