PDNR are at it again!!, duplicating the best 1/1 Motorsport has to offer in a 1/10 format.
Hot on the heels of the RC Bathurst 1000 we bring you the 1/10 Lemans.
December 4 Sydney International Regatta Centre. Practice from 4.00pm, 2.4hr starts at 7.00pm. 2.4 hours of R/C madness. Here is the drill.

Maximum entry of 20 teams.

Each team must consist of minimum 3 entrants, Driver, Pit Crew & Marshall. The 3 team members are permitted to take turns at each of the roles. At least 2 team members must drive in the 2.4 hours.
Up to 5 per team permitted.

Open to 1/10 scale tourers EP & GP

GP specs, Fuel tank must be 75cc, max width 200mm. Body open, Engine open. Modify whatever you like except the tank & width. Must have a declutching device & working brake. Any modifications that are dangerous will not be allowed.

EP Specs, 190mm max width. No reverse allowed. Motors & Batterys open. Any other mods OK as long as they are not dangerous.

Both Nitro & EP cars will be required to make 1 tyre change during the race. The window for the change is between the 60 & 100 min mark. Nitro cars are also required to change receiver batterys in this window. Tyres & receiver battery change must be on 2 seperate pit stops.

True Lemans start, all cars off on grid. EP cars with Battery disconnected, Nitro cars off. When the starter calls go, the pit crew runs & starts car/connects battery & start racing.

At 6.00pm a 20 min optional open qualifier will comence to determine grid positions. Single best lap to count. Cars will be marked at the begining of qualifying & cannot be changed from that point. Only 1 car per team. If you break your car you can fix it & not just throw another one out. If you need to change a chassis the marked one will need to be shown to race control before & after it is changed.

Entry forms will be available from www.pdnracing.org.au soon or PM me for one.

Come & join in the fun. You know you want to!!
This is a good chance for the toothbrush brigade to redeem the humiliation of the Drag Night

I love the idea, especially the start;

True Lemans start, all cars off on grid. EP cars with Battery disconnected, Nitro cars off. When the starter calls go, the pit crew runs & starts car/connects battery & start racing.

Might have to look into this kind of thing over here in west oz.

You realise that even a roar stock in EP churns out faster laps on most tracks than non-pullstart!

I belive you will get approx 8mins+ of very competitive runtime per batt on a brusless and it will do hours and hours of racing.

Any brushless guys up for the challenge?

I think there is a good chance an EP car will take this out. The only advantage a GP car will have is it is much quicker to dump in 75mls of fuel than it is to change a battery.
Although I also thought an EP car would win the drag night(he says as he gazes at the grand champion trophy on the tele )

In all seriousness this should be a great test against drivers & machines, with the added bonus of being a truck load of fun.

Sounds awesome! When are you looking at holding this event? Should see if you can make it a bit longer than 2.4hours maybe 5-6?

Cheers,

Mossie

December 4, its all in the first post. 2.4 hours should be long enough to start with. A true 24 hour would be good, maybe one day

Didnt think about minis, I cant see why not. They are under 190mm wide. If it conforms to the rules in the first post then your covered.

I rechecked the rules, M18 isnt 1/10. The mini is still OK. I wouldnt want my M18 on the same track as Nitro Tourers.

Default Going All Way

Good to see you electric blokes interested, but for me the good old stock V one S motor will pound the tar, and if it shits itself we will then make a real sacrifice of it.

the electrics have nochance! if the last bathurst race was an indication there is going to be major carnage in the first bend and first few laps....nitro car versus an electric head on?! WINNER = NITRO! i recon a few electrics will be, *ehem* bumped of.
