New Concept Class for Short Course Truck (On-Road)
Hi All,
It's Tony from PDNR here and we have an event coming up in a couple of weeks and wanted to put the call out for any 1/10 Short Course Trucks...
We race on-road at Penrith (every Tuesday night) but we also hold a couple of weekend events, and at the Winter Champs on Sunday 16 July we are running a concept class for 1/10 EP Short Course Trucks. We are hoping to replicate what you may have seen on the V8 Supercars and we are planning on having a few small jumps around our on-road track.
If anyone is interested we would love to get your support and appreciate any advice or guidance you have too - we are always looking at ways to improve what we do and we think racing SC trucks around our on-road track would be a ton of fun!
Here are the details of our event:
The upcoming 2017 Racing Lines Winter Champs will be hosted by PDNR.
It is being held on the P3 car park at SIRC (Penrith, NSW) on Sunday 16 July 2017.
The following classes are available:
Open Pan (1/8 Scale & 235mm)
Open Tourer
1/8 GT
Stock EP
Modified EP
Short Course Truck EP
$7 BYO (Demonstration)
Online Entry via MyRCM
More information and entry forms available from www.pdnr.org.au/winterchamps

Track edging has progressed well today. Still have to finish off covering/edging the jumps section and a general track tidy up and compactor touch up in some areas.
Thanks Trent for helping out all day today, Troy for his help this morning and Chris W for his help this arvo, and Rob Uljan for bringing us lunch 👍 Extra help from other members is required on Saturday to take the load off those that have been at the track the last few days.
Cheers.

Nice job on the new track Ryde crew, really enjoyed racing on Sunday and can't wait for the next race.
Race results from yesterdays meet are up on the club website. A great day on the new layout built by Craig Laughton. Thanks to all for attending and all the guys who helped out with the trackwork over the last few weeks.
Slicks seemed the preferred tyre with plenty of grip available once the track started to bed in, however we still need to finish a permanent solution for covering the jumps to offer the same grip level as the rest of the track.
Big thanks to our new club member Mal for organising for all the leftover rubbish from the track rebuild to be removed from the track today. Champion effort.

I use whatever foam is supplied with the tyre and do quite well. Not sure how many guys out there are "tuning" their tyres by using different foams or modifying the foams by punching holes/trimming, etc?

Today we put carpet down on the jump takeoff and landings, traction is much better. 2wd mod may even get the triple now.... and thanks to Rob Uljan for painting all the apex's to make them stand out.
