The track gate should be open just after lunch time, 1pm for open practice for all drivers.

Generally in the colder months especially in the evening we would use softer compounds, like JConcepts green, Pro-Line M4, or AKA red.

The club still has a box of JConcepts 3D's in blue compound available to members, these would still work well during the day.

Any local hobby shops should hopefully stock appropriate tyres.

Hey mate,

I used super soft AKA Crosslinks at the last Saturday night race and they were unreal, secured fastest lap time and 1st place in 2wd mod.

You can purchase from Ryper Hobbies.

If you have any questions pop by at the track, will be happy to help you mate.

Cheers
Nathaniel

I was going to give you some stick about this post but then remembered I haven't raced 10th scale in months so you will probably kick my butt these days.

Anyway have to give a plug for Proline Electrons in M4 compound (super soft) or possibly even Positrons if the grip doesnt come up.

As you can see @Tubbers we all have our preferences so if you go for a super soft bar style you will be close.

Likewise, got a bit of work to get up to speed but I will definitely be back.

I do have a question though, a few people have those blue LED pit light are they from Woolies? I cannot find them in their online shop.

Hey all. Thanks for being so welcoming at the night races the other week - loved it. I have sorted out some stock cars for the boys (b5m's and b44.3's). I had a quick question on motors - I could ask the broad forum, but thought it would be best to start here.

I have 4 different 17.5T motors for the cars:
- Reedy sonic
- Tekin gen2
- Trinity d4 (high torque version)
- Fantom Apex

Are some of these more suited to the 2wd vs 4wd?

Also, do I need to worry about timing settings (I have seen about using a mutlimeter to set the timing such that the motor pulls 6 amps with no load)? Or do people use a motor analyzer? Or should I not worry about it and leave as is?

Use the high torque motor for 4wd. And do use the multimeter to set your motors at 6 amps. From there it's just a matter of getting your gearing right, and keep checking motor temps. Maybe later you could get a motor analyzer, but the multimeter sets you in the ball park.
