Hy-Vee Gas (http://www.hy-vee.com) has signed on to support the Shootout this year! They will be donating some coupons good for $.10 off a gallon of gas plus a FREE 22oz pop of your choice. And they will also be donating some coupons good for $.15 off a gallon of gas plus a FREE 32oz pop. Along with those great prizes they will also have a representative at the track during the Shootout handing out some discount meal vouchers. One voucher will allow you to purchase 2 roller grill items and a 32oz pop for only $2, and the other voucher will enable you to purchase 2 slices of pizza and a 32oz pop for only $3. After crunching all the numbers, adding some late entries at the store, and changing classes for some racers, we have determined that we have 6 entries still available for the Shootout in the following classes:

Stock 2WD SCT = 1
Stock Stadium Truck = 3
Modified 2WD SCT = 1
Novice = 1

Right now we have 143 different racers signed up for a total of 267 entries. This is a lot of people in one area and that doesn't even include, friends, parents, spectators, etc. that will also be in attendance that weekend.

So if you want to sign up for one of the remaining entry spots listed above you can stop in at Hobby Haven, or call them at (515)276-8785 and pay over the phone. Or you can use PayPal and send payments to iowarctracks(at)gmail dot com. The cost for entry fees are:

1st class: $35
Each additional class: $20
Novice: $20

If you want to sign up for a class that is full, you can do so and we will put you on the waiting list found on RCSignUp.com. You need to pay for your entry fees first to get on this list, and if we can't get you in then we will give you a full refund. If an entry opens up then we will grab the 1st racer on that class waiting list and plug them in.

Finally, for those racers who are signed up already, just a friendly reminder that you have till 7pm on 8/27 to ask for a full refund in case something comes up or you are worried about the weather and don't want to make the trip to Des Moines.

One of our newest sponsors this year is REDS Racing USA (http://www.reds-racing-usa.com). REDS is probably know more for their nitro products, but recently they have expanded into the brushless motor market. They are giving away a VX 540 brushless motor this year along with some t-shirts!

They are also the official sponsor of the Stock 2WD SCT class which is our 3rd biggest class this year with 31 entries! They will award a partial sponsorship to the highest finishing unsponsored driver in this class PLUS a REDS VX 540 17.5 brushless motor!
