What if you change the way you do the drawing which likely burns 1-1.5 hours. Instead of doing the traditional way what about during the day picking the numbers or names and place them on the prize and they can pick things up after a certain time. To keep people honest maybe have someone check off the number/name and hand the person their prize. Keep the races moving and people still get door prizes.

With the prizes i think it's better to let the racer pick what they want. They are more likely to appreciate it more. I did try to call out ticket numbers at the mwes last weekend. Kinda worked but has problems. Seems most were talking to friends or focused on there car. Add nitro noise and most will never hear the number called

At the MN Nitro Series - They cut out names from the heat sheet and call your name then tape your name to the prize you won and set it on a table where you claim it. They call the names between heats and rounds and take no extra time. Racers check the table during the day to see if you won.

Since Gary is not racing or calling the race - he could draw the name, deliver the prize to the racer and take the picture. This would take no extra time.
