In stock last year I ran green carvers up front and m4 holeshots in the back. Gridirons are good too as are enduros. Watch out for excessive tire wear if you have a lot of motor or a heavy throttle finger.

I think enduros are consistently the best tire outside. Double dees were real good but could get a little too loose at times. Enduros have a bigger square lug and have real good forward bite and sidebite without catching an edge and making the truck flip over too easy.

What kind of outdoor tires do you recommend for 1/10th buggy, blinky and mod?

Do the tires burn up more quickly outside than inside? They seem to last some time inside, after the first few runs there is a little wear, but not much after that. I have been running Switch 2.0 and Rattlers.

They can, but don't have to. I ran the same set of tires all season last year on my stock sc. Cush burned up a set of rear Enduros in a day one time running mod sc. Compound, throttle control, available power, and traction (moisture) all effect tire wear.

Red ifmar pins were best for me last year, but tend to wear quickly, usually gone in one day if dry. Red ifmar studs held up longer and were still quick. Losi 7202r up front, stock foams all around.

They watered the track most rounds last year which kept tire wear down most of the season. The first 5 weeks i think i ran one set of ifmar pins. If u want the best combo of traction and wear get losi red ifmar studs for the rear.

That reminds me of a question I had--how do you guys think about foams in general? For example, for 2wd buggy, how do rear closed cell foams perform relative to stock?

I have always treated them like air pressure in a tire- in high traction a firm foam will generally yield better traction and feel, in low traction a softer foam will help with traction at the expense of feel. For 2wd classes I run either a stock open cell or a Trinity Bomb one foam outside. In 4wd sc I'll mix and match closed cell and Bomb one foams front and rear depending on what the truck needs.

Ifmar studs huh? Sounds like a Jcon Flip-out might wear better (more knobs, less void). Anybody try anything with smaller knobs, like a holeshot, x2000 or DD?

I didn't realize you guys ran 1/10 outside down there. Might have to make the trip. Is 1/8 electric run on the same days or do those run with the nitros?
