Strictly RC Outdoor On Road Racing!
#31
Thanks to all involved with the Strictly race program for a great day of the foundation of on road R/C racing THE PARKING LOT WARS!!! Indoor carpet is fun but there is nothin like being outdoors in a well prepared lot cuttin and slashin for all to see. Strictly has always reminded me of my favorite r/c times in Leisures parking lot "layin it down proper like..." when touring cars first hit. Parking lot racing does a better job of sparking the interests of newbies than any trade show or magazine has ever done. Seeing regular guys racing on a regular parking lot makes our hobby seem far more attainable to newbies than seeing pro "t-shirters" on a perfect permanent facility (no dis to LHR the Spa -Francorchamps of on road.) With that said I hope that all on road programs for the summer can reach some type of agreement that can help all do well. As dedicated on roaders, we are a small group within a small group and can't afford to be split anymore. I personally would hate to offend anyone by where I choose to spend my raceday but I also realize that the support of racers like myself keeps a place to race open. I have been given parts by fellow racers, had my cars setup by people and had lunch and beer bought for me by people who have become my friends because we all share in this hobby. I really hope that these same people can somehow work in harmony to destroy all summer family life as we know it by offering multiple places to race on multiple days. Believe it or not on road will be back SOON but it will take a concerted effort by it's organizers to put the show on as many places possible. THEY CAN'T RACE OFF ROAD IN A PARKING LOT IN FRONT OF KIDS AND PARENTS!!! Hope to see everyone this summer.

Brian....so for the typical sunday club racing, the TC class should be 17.5 with open speedo but spec Solaris tires, right..?
Then USVTA/RCGT with the same speedo rule along with their own spec rules, correct?
For rookie....is that "race what you bought" class..? This is important for me to know cause my 6 years old daughter is ready to total my SLASH, I need to know what motor to use so she won't run the RC car over the Lawrence Avenue...
Thanks,...Howard Hirosucka.
