Decatur (central) IL .. NEW track starting.
Near the summers end of 2009 we started bashing on a dirt lot. As the crowd grew and winter racing drove the urge to build a track we finally started to put things in motion.
We have purchased around 1000' of pipe. We have roughly have a 140x80 foot track area.
Last weekend was our fundraiser and this week we are working on a layout design. Excavation of the track should start within the week.
It will be geared towards the ever growing SCT classes and an emphasis on fun. We have had many donations an are striving for a family oriented environment that attempts to bring new people to the sport of RC in our area.
There has not been a track in decatur since the 90's and we hope to grow over the summer with the local and regional support.
Here is the latest pics as the grass has been removed and the layout begins to take place.
