We had fun and we had a variety of cars. Again, we owe a big thanks to Steve for hooking up and driving his trailer to the race to use as a drivers stand. Yes, we're looking at one date in July and the first Sat. in August. Any date we select would be on a Sat. when Hobbytown in St. Charles is not racing. The dates have to be cleared with other church activities. I'll be announcing the next date here.

Thanks for orginizing the race I had a great time and it was my pleasure to bring out the trailer, I believe it was jeff who said you were using buckets the last time you got together, if there is another race and I can make it let me know and I can bring it back out. I was wondering if you were going to post the race results? I did not get a chance to ck them out before you put evrything away.

Thanks Mike and Gloria for a fun time.
I know now after that first time my tires were wayyy too hard for all cars.
I wish we could adjust air pressure......
I will have to remedy that for the next time out.

Any idea on next dates?

Trying to look through the window between HT and FE boat once a month funrun in Batavia.

The next two dates we are looking at are July 18 and Aug. 1. We have to check with the church first.

Here's the information about our next race.

R/C RACING SAT., JULY 18 - WINFIELD, IL

There will be a fundraising R/C Race at the Winfield Community United Methodist Church in Winfield, IL. The address is 0S347 Jefferson St. in Winfield, IL. All money raised will go to the church. The race will be held in the church parking lot on Sat., July 18. The race will be open to all drivers. This race will be open to electric cars only. The cost will be $10.00 for each driver for any number of classes. Electricity and washrooms will be available. There’s a McDonalds and Burger King close by. The track will open for practice at 9:30 AM and racing will begin at 11:00. We will be using AMBrc lap counting and transponders will be available to use. Drivers can use personal transponders. The classes we will run will be stock touring, GT3, Tamiya mini, Slash/off road, TT01 Spec, TransAm, NASCAR Outlaw and any others as long as we have at least three cars for a class. The church is trying this as part of their outreach programs. There will be no drivers stand. So, you’ll need to bring something to stand on if you need it. There will be a door prize drawing for the drivers at no charge.

Directions: Take Rt. 38/ Roosevelt road to County Farm Rd and turn north. There’s a MacDonald’s at that intersection. Go north to Manchester Rd. and turn left or west on Manchester. Take Manchester to Jefferson St. and turn right or north and go about a block and you’ll see the church on the right side.

Take Rt. 64/North Ave. to County Farm Rd. and turn south. There’s a Honda motorcycle dealer at the intersection. Take County Farm Rd. to Manchester Rd. Turn right or west on to Manchester Rd. Take Manchester to Jefferson and turn right on Jefferson. Go about a block and you’ll see the church on the right.

Because of the different address, map quest and other driving direction programs may not work.

What are the white lane dividers made of? They look very transportable. How did you nab an ambrc scoring system -- that is pretty good, but has been just outside of my reach for a system to own.

BobWoodhouse - With my crude building skills, I had to use something simple. They are simply 1'x4's, painted white. I saw a similar set up, although more professionally done, in Maryland at a TCS race. I found the AMBrc system on Ebay.

I went to the parking lot today. It was recently coated and the traction is much better. I ran my NASCAR Outlaw car there with the vintage tires and it hooked up well.

It would be great if you could bring your trailer. It was a great help at our last race.

What are the chances you'd consider a kids race geared toward young kids that have never tried racing before? Something like the Batavia RC boat club did where it is just one race (no qualifiying) that lasts about 2 minutes with a decreased entry fee just to let them try out a "real" race. My kids don't have the interest / attention span for a whole afternoon of racing but they might like to try something like this out.
