I thought something was fishy with Nino's race. I was watcing on RC Live. Now I know what went wrong. Tim I thought you did pretty darn good. I was hoping for the Marrca/Cheese City race. Myabe n the next two weeks I will be able to make it down. Corey I might just be racing a tc next year after all and possibly a buggy yet this summer. I was offerd a better sponsorship from Travis Amezcua at Hot Boddies. So the new truggy will come first and I am starting to save money now for the trip to Joliet in July. I agree with Mike I am ready for the snow to go and get back in the dirt.

As far as the 8T2.0 that thing is UGLY. Did they run it over it with a car before they took pictures of that body. Looks like a Mack truck. I guess they plan on having trailer races with it.

I just got on to pm Rod about some stuff and I find him throwing down some smack talk.
I do own a slash and I do work during the day on Saturdays.
I took a Vacation day this Saturday and I was planing to go down to Monroe to show you my mad slash skills.
Up here in Madtown we have 1 simple rule in slash-stock tires.
As the class grows(and it is) we may look into a spec class also.
Mine is box stock the only thing I've changed is the rear body mount so the tires do not rub the body.
I have raced it 2 weeks now and week 1 there were 8 of us.
I was lucky enough to T.Q. Then Win the main.
Week 2 was another story.
Week 2 the boys were gunning for me and I think I qualified 3rd and finished 3rd in the main.
I wanted to ask you Cheesecity guys if you all are stock and or what have you done to you'r Slashes for setups.
Some of the guys up here have some Awesome handeling Slashes and I am driving my butt off to keep up.
I'll see you Saturday.

Thanks to everyone, esspecially Andy, for helping get me ready for the Novak race and a huge thanks to Tim for letting me crash in his hotel. This race was definatly an eye opening experience. The info I got from Bob and Josh will hopfully help me whoop-up on you local boys. It is always cool when the Associated engineer who designed your car is giving you tips.

As far as racing... I got my butt kicked in 13.5 to a ton of really good drivers. Anyone who says 13.5 is slow needs to attend this race next year and see how fast they really are. It was amazing to see the speeds these motors were running. The good part is I met my goal of 23 laps (3 times) and improved lap times from the New Years race. (still waaaaaay off the pace)

I finished pretty much in the middle of the pack in the 17.5 class. I had a good run going in my main until I was held on the track after making a move for 1st. As I waited for his body-tuck to get fixed one of the other drivers hit/spun me out while 2-5 drove away. After that I was pretty much out of the race. The best part is that I was at least in contension for the win, so after days of I now feel more like

Here are my laps from my 17.5 main. Check out the 20.413 on lap 12...ouch

Over all a great weekend at Trackside. It was fun hanging out with Jason, Matt, Josh, Tim, and all the other racers. Scotty runs a great race program and a very nice facility.

What are your clubs rules on the slash class? What mods are allowed? Can you fill the diff with fluid? Trying to come down soon and race and want to be legal.

Slash class is so much fun. Great truck for the dollar and a hoot to drive. Bob will place well I am sure this weekend. He is an excellent driver and a great supporter of our sport.

As of now, I don't think we have any official written rules. I think the unwriten rules are:
1) Keep it fun and inexpensive: stock motors, stock tires
2) Durability hop-ups are OK (RPM hub carriers, etc.)
3) If you want to do all sorts of other improvements, run a stadium truck not a Slash.

I think Lipos are OK.

I think these types of changes are OK since some of us are doing some of these:
- change shock mounting positions
- change shock oil
- add fuel tubing as external shock limiters to limit front end body roll

I guess Ryan gets to make the final rules decisions on things like diff fluid.

My opinion is: Whatever. If you are too fast we will hack you as you try to lap us

Sounds like a great time.

Trackside is the first RC track I ever went to, so that's always been what I compare everything else too. Scotty Ernst is a great race announcer and usually makes you feel like your race is the most important race of the day, even if it is the C or D main. Scotty's my second favorite race director in the world behind Andy.

From my point of view ... here's what happened. Nino was in second catching first. There was a 180 turn in the middle of the course, and 1st went a little wide. Nino tried to take the inside, and 1st came back down on him. Nino hit 1st in the left rear ... spun him out, and caused a body tuck. Race Director made the decision that Nino should let 1st get back around, so stopped Nino. 3rd and 4th passed both 1st and Nino while waiting.

Tough call ... but Scotty is the best, so it is what it is. Scotty came up afterwards, shook Nino's hand and said he felt it was the right thing to do. Very classy, and Nino showed a lot of restraint in not getting too upset.

At no point did Scotty make it sound like he thought the crash was intentional... no one thought it was intentional ... but Scotty felt Nino put his car in a bad spot and caused the wreck.

It was a racing deal ... after replaying it in my head, I don't think Nino should have been made to stop ... BUT ... Scotty is the best, with more experience then anyone I know, so we have to defer to his judgement.

It was a ton of fun! Nino --- I still have a case of water in my car I'll bring to the track on Saturday ... now it's frozen water.

Dang, the way you were pouring me glass after glass and then putting your hand on my knee I thought I would have been mentioned like Jason, Matt, Josh, and Tim.

Anyway, the important thing is having fun and learning at the same time and not get discouraged. See you again at the track sometime.

Robot saturday will be a good day to throw down a slash bash. I think were going to ccx then marrca after
Other than putting some diff fluid in plantary (PAIN) I would trade anyone slash for slash thats how stock mine is rx and body not included
I think when this motor dumps I've got a 13.5 ex that I'd like to be able to run but if not so be it
