Indoor carpet offroad will be sweet if that's the direction they head. This could be good to attract & entertain the newby scene, and looks like it could be a cost effective type of track for many rctech-types.

With lipo and brushless...electric racing is actually fun again

Howard, you're on some special kind of crack if you think it would make sense for them to build an indoor 1:8 onroad track. Of course, this would be awesome for like .01% of us...

I totally thought the indoor carpet offroad track LH ran 'back in the day' was awesome. Killer traction and the car same home cleaner that is was when I headed there. I remember the LH crew using a bunch of home quality carpet samples for their track, and I do recall carpet threads being an issue. The UK style solution with astro turf or the like would be interesting and likely fun.

I loved the off-road indoor carpet at LS back in the day, it was my favorite. The banked wall was so cool. I herd the reason for giving it up was the lack of help that it took to set it up every week, a lot of man-hours.
What is the real status of this track? It could be a awesome spot.

Offerings?
Give us some hard facts man.

Any status on this location...

As I'm looking for a job, I'm watching the expense in traveling to LHS or up north... So I'm looking forward to something that is not so far away, until I get a new job home....

Paul the guy who's name is on the flyer knows this thread exists.

He has confirmed they will be up and running the days they mention on that flyer. He's looking for people to show up to bash the first day, possibly race. He said he's looking forward to on-road, and off road. Also go and fly indoors.

He said he wants opinions from people who can look at the operation from the perspective of a fun-first kind of place, not a "hard core" racing facility. He expects the place to evolve as it goes.

Maybe he'll chime in himself, here.

I think euro carpet tracks in or outside are dialed. They need to be for offroad only though because there are no trucks overseas.Buggys would eat ozite. No ozite for them. They use astro turf.

I wouldn't plan on seeing Ozite at Carol Stream.

I'm just going to show up on their first day that they are open and will bring a T4 (with jaco foams, and some other rubber truck tires)and my Trans Am car. I'll run them around and see how traction is. I guess we'll all see what's up in a few weeks.
