I'm down for Friday 4WD this week if we can get a 3rd to run with us (3 makes a class). I believe Scotty is out of town for a couple more weeks, so he won't be running.

I recently "stuck one foot back in" the R/C racing pool, with the intent of not taking things too seriously. I, like Stogie, am a devout on-road enthusiast, and have been crashing cars on and off at Trackside since 1997.

My thought this time was to try WGT as a way to run a slightly cheaper car (battery/tire/etc), while still enjoying competitive racing. As with ANY class, you're gonna have the fast guys and the slow guys (myself in the later). You're also gonna have the guys with the budget, vs the guys with the deep pockets.

Regardless of what "spec" class you create, there is still enough wiggle room to allow for the "fast guys" with the "deep pockets" to dominate regardless of any controls put in place... aside from some sort of "hand-out cars". This is the case with REAL racing today!

The closest I've ever seen anything get to "spec" is the Tamiya Mini class.... but even those have (as Stogie likes to say) DARK ARTS that you NEED to be fast.

I've relagated myself to treating R/C as a HOBBY, and not a SPORT. Come down to the track, chat it up with my fellow racers, laugh about busted speed controls, and treat it like a social event. If you take it too seriously, you may end up sucking the fun out of it... for you AND those you race with.

My $.02

I think Chimer and MjK and 92 vert might be up for it. Havent gotten commitments but they have shown interest.

I don't want to give away other peoples tricks Gary, but a very wise and fast racer told me something last night that should be common sense to everyone.

Look at what the fast guy has on his truck, Hint: it isn't the most expensive tire or wheel out there it's actually one of the cheapest.

I listened, (with the exception of the Bead Lock wheels, because they are just cool looking and AWESOME) and my truck was way better. HOOKED UP

Just my 2 cents worth to save someone some money.

I've always thought they felt numb to me. It's personal preference.

HEY! Have you been talking to my WIFE?!

I guess I kind of set myself up for that one, huh?

So who else besides Aaron will run 4wd with us on Friday? I think I have another potential guy coming so with Aaron there could be at least 5 already. Can we get a full heat of 10? Or can't you fit that many on those teeny weeny lanes up there?
You know I love that track though, RIGHT?!?!
Oh Yeah!!!!

WOW, I left Trackside at 2:10 AM, and there were still a few races left. What a busy night.

GREAT JOB Mr. Kenny Dibb, boy did you have a handful last night, nice work getting through the night with all those racers. I think we were even with the Saturday Night Fever race as far as entries.

I think Scotty needs to put some cots on the carpet track so we can just spend the night.
