Default LIPO Batteries

Does Trackside allow the use of LIPO batteries for racing? If not can you tell me why you do not allow them? I am asking this because it seems to me that LIPO pack are the big thing just like the BL systems are.

From what I have been reading the past few months about LIPO packs there are pros and cons about them. I am in the market for new batteries along with a charger and I just want to make sure before I buy anything.

I know some tracks do allow LIPO packs but I am not sure about trackside and I would like to start racing onroad and maybe some offroad again at Trackside.

Thanks for the information about this and I look forward to hearing your replies!

John

Scotty,
Is there any plan on running any TCS Classes in weeks before the Big Race?

Dave,
I'm planning on being in Milwaukee the weekend of Feb. 2 and I'd like to run Mini (which shouldn't be and issue) and GT3 that Saturday if possible.

Derek will also run mini, so that's 2 minis and one GT3 car.

My daughter's club soccer team is going up there to see a Milwaukee Wave soccer game Saturday night, so I volunteered to take her.

As far as I know of, and Buck or any other Trackside employee can let me know if i'm wrong, but I think that you can run lipos if you want. I know that at races like the Novak race and the TCS race they aren't legal, but I think they are for weekly club racing. If you're interested in a charger, i have an Orion Advantage that will do lipo for sale. If fact, I think that Buck has run his lipo pack in club racing.

Yup, for 2008 TCS will allow Lipo in the GT3 / GT2 classes. Must be hard case, and 5000maH or less. The 2008 TCS rules have been updated with the exact details.
