21.5 Fixed Timing Class / Euro Truck
I would be down for this class! I was building a fixed timing 21.5 car to race at WCRC, so I'll keep that car and see if this class goes anywhere........I just have to get tires and a body.
I will be coming out with my Euro Truck as well, I would vote NO on the shocks.....keep the TCS rules!

Stick with local events. Unfortunately depending on or hoping for big events is doomed

Open Touring is for any type of touring car. The mod guys have dominated in the past. The program at Hobbytown in St. Charles is successful because it covers most classes and they try to include something for everyone. it's a competitive, but laid back racing at the same time. They have a party for the racers in the Fall. Hobbytown might be willing to run other events on dates not already schedule. Talk with Jeremy. Their biggest event of the Summer is Elburn Days, which is a fun race with an old fashioned loose dirt track.

I would put your graphite chassis on for sure , 5 min on the asphalt and you'll have a lot of shiny nicks on that aluminum chassis

It’s different. Well it’s normal to me. Carpet felt odd. Not sure what St. Charles lot is like. One thing that usually makes a difference, it did for us at Orland, was the sun.

What TC chassis is best suited for parking lot racing?
With WCRC closing I will be shuffling cars a bit. I currently have a (2) 2016 X-ray T4 chassis, both of which had the solid aluminum chassis installed. One of them will remain a VTA carpet car. The other one I can either sell off, or convert back to the carbon/glass chassis, or shelve.
What type of wear can I expect from running in the parking lot? Would I be better off with a different chassis? Shaft drive, or is belt ok? Buy two 3racing TC's and spares? Other chassis options?
Yeah, I am lost!

In the past, the parking lot wasn't terrible on TC tires. I ran Sorex 36's on my TC in Open Touring with a 17.5 and they gripped and held up well. By the way with a 17.5 I wasn't close to the top two guys. When I ran 8th scale buggy it was hard on tires. I think most guys are running belt drive cars. There's a mixture of manufacturers and ages of cars. The bottom of the chassis will get scratched. With the gear diff for F1 I don't think it makes a lot of difference. Tires are a key for any r/c class. For F1 that is very true. They first date on their schedule is a test and tune day. It would probably be a good idea tp come and test your cars. The parking lot has gone through a winter of freezing, thawing and being plowed.
