Hello, I know a lot about vintage pan cars but my dragster knowledge is limited. I picked this up in a trade and I'm just hanging it on my wall cause I think it's cool. Knowing what it actually is would help in the event that I run it one day and break something. Doubt I'll ever run it but again't I'd just like to know what it is. Any help is appreciated.

That rear pod looks like an early Assoc. pan car piece. I'm guessin' it's a handbuilt one-off.

Thanks. It is cool isn't it, looks great on my wall but I'd love to know what it is. I don't think it a hand built job it just looks to clean with the strut brace in the back the underside of the chassis and the way the servo mounts up. Just looks factory, I've seen several hand built rc's and there's always something that looks home made. If it is a one off someone is very skilled and made a masterpiece cause it looks perfect in person.

It'd be a lot easier to identify with a body off shot. Might be an old Bolink but without a chassis view it's hard to say what it is.

nice i have a few RJ speed.. dragsters 24" wheel base.. whats yours? looks longer like 32"+..fb has a few drag clubs might join 1 and ask..

It's 24" there is a body off shot in the first post but I'll get a better one up to see if it helps someone help me figure this out. It's a mission at this point lol.

My first thought was Bolink of course but the rear pod is too nice. Bolink was always pretty blocky in the shape of everything. New Era also made dragsters back in the day although I always remember them being nitro powered. Still worth a look.

Looks like a bolink main chassis and front with AE rear pod. Common to swap out rear pods in bolink's back in the day. That is cool!

That is for sure an AE rear pod. Looks just like the one on my old pan car. I believe the center section is just a homemade piece and the front looks to be either Bolink or AE. Either way its a sweet piece of RC history.
