IF everyone's lipos can do it, I think 10 min mains would be better.

Hi all! Newbe here and wanted to say hey! I am in the process of buying a TC 10 RTR(latest ver with bushless/2.4 transmitter) and joining u all ovr at the track for some racing, and good some good ole hot lap practice! I have been holding off getting back into the r/c off-road scene due to lack of tracks, etc in our local area! Talked to Randy up at the Hobbyshop, and he mentioned Clinton County Raceway. Did a search, and found it is only 15 mins away, so I am stoked! It's been yrs since I have raced r/c cars(back in the 80's with Cox Scorpions, Tamyia Sand Scorcher/Ford 150 they were about the only things available) Also, thanks Matt for taking the time yesterday to chat on the phone to give me a little run dwn on things
Look fwd to meeting you guys at the track!
Have a good one,
Matt

i am down with longer mains.... i think most people should be able to run 10 min, at least with a buggy.... not sure about all you slash guys.

As long as everyone has a 4000mah lipo or bigger I'm sure they can make the 10 min slash main. I have a 5200mah and I can go 15 to 20 min.

Well went out this afternoon and bought a SC 10 RTR ! Had chance to run it a little this evening out on a baseball infield( my son did some batting practice before some tourny play this wkend) couldn't help but to bring it with me I have a question on run times with a 7.2v 4200 NIMH Venom battery that I bought today with the truck. I am only getting around 5 mins of run time! Does not seem right with that size? I am using a older Triton charger and when I recharge the battery it is only taking on 1000 or so mA when fully charged up! At first I thought it was due to me not setting up the ESC to NIMH fr the default setting of LIPO. Maybe a bad battery possibly?

Yeah! thanks man! The charger is around 4 to 5 yrs old, and has mainly been used to charge lipos for my T-rex 450 heli, and PZ planes! It seems to working good! peaking the packs, amps dropping to 0 a few times, and charger showing charge finished! Sucks! because I didnt research the crappy quaility of the Venom packs until later tonight! urgh! I plan on taking it back to the Hobbyshop 2morrow to see whats up!

Oh, I'll handle it when my brushless gear arrives (on it's way from Cali right now)
Last couple of weekends have been a disaster for me with mechanical failures. Work has been hell this week and I'm exhausted, so I'll not be there tonight guys.
However, next week dinner is on me. I'm bringing a mini-grill and hot dogs. If anybody else wants to chip in with chips or dessert then that would be cool.
Tony likes expensive stuff. He'll tell you to get a Tekin brushless system and MaxxAmps batteries. Now to be fair to the guy, I've heard the same about Venom batteries and Venom products in general are garbage that they don't support.
Try some Chinese batteries from http://www.hobbypartz.com
I know a lot of guys that run these and are very happy with them, myself included.
The only problem is that people tend to buy them in bulk when they're in stock, so when you see them in stock then you'd better jump on it.
You can also spend a little more and get the same batteries from e-bay without having to wait on them to get stock in.

Tony is very helpful and doesn't suggest you to buy the most expensive thing there. He has been very helpful.
I also run the ching chong lipos. I like it. But when I buy more I will be buying good ones like SMC or even the Dynamite 2s 6000mah for 60 bucks.
