4 new AA batteries (6.38 volts measured out) hooked up to the Rx pack and I placed the truggy on carpet ... will not move steering either way. I guess this means I am going to need a new steering servo as you said yesterday.

Will this servo do?

Thanks

Ed check this out too ...

Will that work with Futaba type Rx connectors? Since the servos I have are Futaba style.

Thanks

Steve, That used M8+Spektrum is a good deal so long as it stays south of $200. But if you need a new radio and servos the most economical thing to do is to get the Spektrum DX3 Radio Receiver + 2 new servos for $250 at TRS on line store

http://h1073022.hobbyshopnow.com/ser...=ALL&tag=qsrch

Unfortunately, they are out of stock right now. If you're in a hurry AMain Hobbies has them:

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...oducts_id/9148.

Its a really good system, much better than the old DX2. I've heard nothing but good things about JR Servos - you cant go wrong there. (But you might need a new servo horn).

If you decide to just get one servo at this time definately consider the S3050 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXFKZ7&P=ML and your current servo horn should bolt right up - If I remember right it was marked with an 'F'?

If I was you, I would get the DX3 system and have a new radio and servos and a decent warrantee. (just dont forget the servo horn).

Let us know what you end up doing.

What about this system?

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/16275

Would I need to get new servos if I got the DX3?

Thanks again for all the help

Steve, I have a JR Z-1 for sale. It's a year old and is equipped with a spektrum transmitter and one receiver for $300.00. I just realized you need servo's also and I would't be including any with mine. If anyone is interested PM me!

I have an 8ight for sale and a bunch of parts if anybody is interested let me know. I know everyone is gearing up for carpet racing so it's probably bad timing.

Gixxer - The avatar somehow disappeared! I know the tie-ups were unintentional... but please don't try to make it better by feeding me a french fry from your mouth. That image is now going to be stuck into my head the entire Winter. J/K man! I hope to stop by sometime if you guys ever run TT01 road course

As we all know, sponsorship is a big part of oval racing, 1/10 scale
and full scale. Team Blue enters the 1/10 scale scene with 3
major sponsors for the 2007-08 season.

Who are they? Find out at the Team Blue press conference Friday
October 5, 2007 at the Altoona Raceway where the new Team Blue
COT body paint scheme will be unveiled! Press conference will be
hosted by Brad Blontz. Following the press conference you can take
photos with the Team Blue Car of Tomorrow body and it's owner,
Ed Toth. If you are lucky you may even get to touch Ed's Body!

Steve, the Spektrum DX3 comes with 2 servos, the Airtronics system does not. I have not yet seen a new MX3 FHSS at the track yet, but, based upon Airtronics reputation, I'm sure its every bit as good as Spektrum if not better.

You cant go wrong with a MX3 FHSS + servo of your choice.

Maybe its too late, but I really want this product to be my new sponsor.

http://www.flat-d.com/

I know for sure that a lot of the guys I race with can really benefit from Flat-D charcoal technology. I don't want to single anyone out, but Brad, this product could change your life.
