There are some mods you can do to make it a bit better, if your into doing mods. The easiest is to move the battery to the front, it really helps with steering. I have a set of the FT threaded shocks (small bore) that I could hook up up with for cheap and another one of those rtr .28 motors as well. If you are interested.

It is.

Just hap hazardly to the front with some zip ties or is there a kit for it?

How much for the motor? And the shocks?

Yep, or you can make a small peice to zip tie it to. I have the peice, or the updated tray is like 10 bucks. I got some FT parts as well, I will pm you in a few days with prices.

Ok, I am not an noob with Nitro. I am a pseudo-noob thanks to the Revo.

What kinda fuel/glow plugs should I be running on the RC8rs with the Pro .28? I am gonna run it until the money leprechauns arrive with Publishers Clearinghouse.

I can remember which glow plug to use, I might have the manual to the engine somewhere.

Default Another Question...

I will eventually upgrade to a .21 engine for my RC8. I would assume that it will not drop right into the buggy since a .28 is so much bigger. How do I know what mounts will work with a .21 engine? Do the .21 engines have the same footprint and I basically will get those mounts?

And to kick up heavily opinionated debate....Which engines do you all recommend? I do not wanna break the bank, but I want something about mid grade er so...around 200 bux.

I picked up like six ODO99 glo plugs from tower for 11 bux. Seems like they have the best prices on plugs. Just an fyi.

I am getting excited about the nitro stuff, I hope it is a diff experience from my first outing with it.

TIA

Any .21 will drop in, u may have to spin the carb to make it fit, no big deal. As far as engine, I'm running an OS VZB .21 in my truggy and I love it, it has great fuel mileage and I hardly have to mess with the needles during a race day.

Depending on which one you get, yes. Mine takes a turbo plug.

They are shaped differently. if you look at the bottom of one of your p3s you will see a 45 degree shape where it screws into the button of the head. Turbo advantage: a little more power on the top end, more fuel efficient. Standard advantage: plugs are much cheaper, a little easier to tune. There is no right or wrong answer here.

I have to say, the more I see the nitro 1/8 scale run the more I want one. There have even been times I have caught myself looking at rollers in the classifieds here, but I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger on one...not sure what it is.

now that I think about it I have a E converted D8t at the house that is not doing anything. I could get the parts required to run it nitro and run it that way. Hmmm, the wheels are turning now
What motor would a guy look for to run a 1/8 truggy?
