Yes, that's true. Lower timing will have more torque and thus will allow the motor to carry a taller gear. This will give the motor softer bottom-end but more top-end. With higher timing, you have more RPM and power and thus have to gear down which gives more bottom-end. Lower timing is also more efficient than higher timing.

Actually more timing increases bottom-end torque, while reducing torque at the higher RPM range. And the opposite holds true for less timing.... Increased timing on your 9 turn (say 18-20 degrees) will give the motor a more aggressive feel in the lower RPM range, help to launch the car off the corners.... For a 9 turn in a TC 20 degrees is usually perfect, unless the ambient temperature and track temps are excessively high. At that point lower timing will help the motor finish stronger at the end of the run ...Hope this helps.

Anyways, we tried the DC monster stock 27 and noticed that it had a very strong torque compared to epic and monster horsepower. The normal ratio we use in our local track is 6.9 with epic and monster horsepower, is it advisable for us to go down to 6.7 because the epic and m.h. have more top end in the straight? What ratio do you recommend for your DC monster stock 27?

Curtis, you may already have plans the weekend before the Vegas race, but just in case here is the flyer for our Vegas Warmup event on September 17th. The cool thing about this event will be the all day Sunday practice with the computer timing turned on to test and tune setups. Our carpet is less than a year old and it is the good CRC ozite. Received my Ti3 last week, and used it this weekend at a meeting called the Team Much More Masters in NSW Australia, the motor had tons of rip, and was easy on runtime, was pretty good in practice with thec XXX brush, but i put in some CS brushes for racing and it really came to life. It helped me to Set TQ and win the meeting against the fastest guys in Australia, look forward to running it in future meetings.

Yeah Tandman but I TQ'ed by over a lap with my DC (had to get it in!!)...just not enough time to charge my pack for the race and charge my receiver pack for the Nitro mains!!!
