Looks like you are doing some great things there. I personally don't dead short, I'm concerned about what can happen to a cell if you don't have some kind of resistance between the poles, particularly if you leave it like that for a long time. I like to have my cells equalizing for at least 4 hours and up to 12 and I like to do it as close to the race as I can.
I find voltage increases very slightly over time and it helps to maintain your run time. I think of run time a little differently than most people would. I think any given cell has a maximum potential run time. Depending on how you treat the cell will mean how you much of that potential will be available to you. There is little doubt that this maximum potential run time amount will decrease over time dependant on many things. How many cycles on the cells and how they are cycled etc. But most of all it seems that the amount of heat the cell is subjected to will affect run time the most over the lifecycle of the cell.
I apologise, I have a habit of answering questions like "what time is it" by explaining how to make a watch.

My Fusion packs powered me to the TQ and win of the last week of our local series race. I used my packs from the Novak race tonight...I hadn't used them in a couple weeks and man do they have some rip.

I take it you are discharging down to 5.4 cut off, storing the batteries and then put them on a tray that equalizes them back to 5.4 volts?

not exactly. I discharge to to 1.0v per cell then store them until the day before the next race. I'll then take them out and pre- equalize them for around 2 or 3 hours. I let them go all the way down to 0 and leave them there for a while. Then on the day of the race i put them back on the equaliser until i take them off the charge. You will usually find that you will go from putting in about 3700 to 4100 to 4300 (I had 4190 this weekend and I did not equalise as much as normal). Equalising to 0 and leaving it there for a few hours will also get you about 30 extra seconds on run time at 30A.

We will be processing cells like mad again next week. So far we have been working double shifts 6 days a week. Somebody opened the flood gates for orders and we have been matching cells like crazy trying to get all caught up. We are adding more a bunch more machines this week to try and help the volume of processing to be able to meet demand. Cells are looking really good right now. We got both 3300 and 3700 in the shop ready for shipping. I dont know that status on 1.185 3300's at the moment though.

I would like to introduce myself to all the readers and the Team and Special Thanks goes to John Malin and the Fusion Batteries Team and to Judy in answering my emails. I am running for Fusion here in the Niagara area in Ontario, Canada.
I would like to say congratulations to Peter Robinson, John Malin and the whole Team at the Roar Carpet Nats! I feel good things to happen for all who run these batteries.
These batteries are kicking and what a fine product to have already assembled with the patented bars and process. Just install and go. My 1.18+ packs from January seemed to hit a new level the last 2 weeks and the latest 1.18+ pack i just received worked much better this time right off the bat in the first run.
Well we just finished our indoor carpet season and I finished 3rd overall in points for Touring Car Stock in a competitive field. Stock is the only class we run along with 1/12th scale. I will be gunning for the points championship next season! I know I can win that - just got to find some good tuner for the motors.
I will be working on 1/12th scale and Mod Touring practice and 2WD Buggy racing over the summer. Thanks again.
