I would suggest possibly putting a hole in the brush and also two green springs, or a green(+) and a blue(-) if its a very high speed track for 12th.

Thanks storm. Forgot to mention that it is for stock class. By the way, what will the hole accomplish?

Fuzzy....The hole will do two things...one help the brush run cooler and you get a little more power out of the motor. It also seems to help the brush last longer IMO.

Since the subject has been brought up, what size hole do you drill in the brush face? I've seen drilling recommended when the brush's serrations wear off, and I've been considering trying it. Just not sure how big to make the hole. And does it change the powerband enough to require a change in gearing? Thanks for the help, stock motor experts!

Juan....you can do it when the brush has full serations or once they are worn off, it has the same effect. You dont need to change your gearing at all when doing this. Just make sure that the brush isnt burnt and purple looking. I use a #55 drill bit in a pin vise....but you can use anything like an exacto or a body reamer...just dont make the hole very large. The larger the hole the more risk you run of the brush cracking and falling apart.

From Hobbytalk, on the Ohio State Race:
"
Seaball is still on a terror. He missed TQ narrowly to a very hooked up Mo Denton. In the Main-Mo had trouble and Seaball held off Pulfer and then Eli and ran a perfectly driven A-Main."

Seaball = Chris Goetz

Congratulations!

I don't know if he pumped his fist and yelled "Hurricane Power!!!" as he came off the stand though......

thanks rob, and bradley j.

i'm not one to go too nuts about my own accomplishments, but i faired pretty well. i see pulfer was pimping the hurricane gear too. that's sweet.

mo and his rdx were looking pretty scary down at platinum, but he dnf'ed the last round and on the second lap of the main, courtesy of a pretty hellatious barrier system. that left it in my hands to throw away the win...

just as a testament to brad's cells... i didn't receive any prior to the novak, or for this race. both of these were run on sticks from cleveland and our halloween race in october.

If anyone talks to Brad or knows how to get a hold of him tell him to call me at work, ASAP.

Thanks,
Paul

Paul....Just send him some smoke signals or taunt him with some foam tires that will get his attention.

Yeah good luck to all you guys going down to the Birds.....enjoy the weather and the race and bring back a jacket and 1 or 2 bodies less....
