Well, we had a sudden drop in temperature, and then
it started to hail, instead of rain, then the rain came
really hard,--------and then it just abruptly stopped!

That's tornado weather, especially a sudden drop in
temperature!

Looks like we're supposed to have rain on and off through
Saturday! Guess we need the OC indoor track to open
quickly!!

We have been spared here this week so far, but we are coming up on memorial day. Historically that means straight line winds and damage lol

I know bean had some hail and stuff up at his house last night. I could see the lightening and hear the thunder but it skirted to the north of the metro.

If any of the banzai brethren are in need of a charger, I have a Duratrax ICE for sale. It will do nimhs and lipo.

Default Back to racing...

Hey Banzai Nation.

Jason ran in our club race today and did awesome, I just wish I could say that he did it on Banzai power. An unlucky hit from behind caused a soldering tab to break-off in the 1st heat so we had to put in another 19t.

He captured the 3rd qualifing position for the main and ended up 2nd in the main and had a few personal bests. Up until now his best race was 11laps at 5:24 on that layout and tonight he went 12laps at 5:22 -- plus topped his best lap time not once, but 5 times in one race! To say the least it was his best race to-date in his young career.
(We were going to run stock buggy as well, but not enough enteries so the track owner tossed Jason in with a group of novice. He did a sweep of all qualifiers and the main but was very respectful in doing so. Many times would let up after some else crashed, so they could "race" side-by-side.)

So MOM, we're going to be buying a new hood VERY soon -- however my wife and I are in talks about just going with one of your 10.5 systems instead.

You see, I'm deploying overseas soon and brushless would be a lot easier for her to maintain then to worry about brushes, comm cutting , etc ... so expect an e-mail soon asking for pricing and such.

Have great Memorial Day!
-Drew

hey guys,

just got back from our second challenge cup round down under. I finished 10th in 2wd mod and 9th in 4wd mod, and this was my first major mod race. Paul Creevey took out 2wd stock, and finished 2nd in truck stock. Thanks for your support again!

Good job, Shane!! I saw you were signed up in

Mod, so that's a great showing for you! Thanks for

representing us so well "down under" !!

You said Paul "took out 2wd stock" does that mean he

won???? Really proud of all my Aussie boys, doing

it again this year!! AND special thanks to "Puddle", he

is working hard for all you guys and Banzai too!

Drew, Jason just keeps getting better! I didn't know you

were in the military. I will be emailing you as soon as the

holiday is over!

Mitch, working on a new order now!

Scott, what are you geared at for your T4 with the 10.5? Trying to get my truck ready for the shootout.

Yes Mom, nearly 17 years in the Air Force.

Jason keeps amazing me. He just keeps stepping it up with each level of competition. On Saturday the guy who beat him has more than 20 years of racing and from what I've was told has won and competed at several FLA, LA and GA state level competitions -- The gentleman also completed 12 laps, about 14 sec faster (a little more than a 1/2 lap ahead).
When others (like Marcus) who have raced against him or watched him, keep telling me that his skills are so natural -- well I get really proud and realize my job and honor is to just keep nurturing him and supporting him without pushing him too hard. To just let him enjoy what he's doing and don't hold him back from whatever level he ascends to.

For all I care, if he was to wake up tomorrow and not want to race anymore I would be OK with that, because I'll have the great memories and time we shared.

Of course, I'm not sure I'd completely walk away from it -- I'd probably give it a go.
