Thanks Zack, I don't get the magazines, so I'll have to get

one this week-end if we race!!

Once again, Banzai will be a sponsor of the JBRL Electric

Series, and the Reedy and Hot Rod's Shoot-Out. I think

we've been a sponsor of the Shoot-Out for all it's years!!

And EVERY year for the JBRL, that I know for sure!

I know we all like to travel to big races, but this year, with

the economy and gas prices, etc. etc. PLEASE support the

races in your area!! Especially club racing!! Support the

tracks and shops in your area, pump the $$$$$$$$ into them

and not some far away track! That far-away track needs to be

supported by their own racers.

And I don't mean you have to stop traveling, we will be traveling,

but at a time when so many are closing, pick and choose wisely!!

Next year when you need to practice for that "big race", your

track might not be there if we don't support the home-town

tracks!!

End of soap-box!

My "local track" is an hour 15 minutes away, and most of the racers there are from the okc area. I live 10 minutes away from the old RCRC that had the nats in 94 and 96. Of course I started racing in 97... lol. I like to race at as many different tracks as possible. Its too easy to run at one place and be a one trick pony imo. I like different track building styles, different dirt etc. I really want to go to a race or 2 in Arkansas. They are running outdoor loamy tracks. But, its at least 5 hours away + so I will maybe get to do one race out there depending on funds. I hit dallas once every 2 -3 months, its 2.5 hours away. The problem with that is they start at noon. So, you have to get up at the butt crack of dawn and haul down there and hope they havent submerged the track like a bayou so you can maybe get 1 pack of practice.

my soap box broke, I weigh too much

btw is snowing here. They are expecting 1-5 inches. Then this weekend back in the high 50's low 60's lol. Hoodie is in use for sure.

Guess I need to single space, my post looks hugh!
I remember quite a few guys who were awesome at the
Ranch, but couldn't do it anywhere else.

We are lucky here I guess, we travel to 8 different tracks,
in the SoCal area in the JBRL. We USED to have lots of
tracks just in our area, most gone now. So everyone doing
those races gets LOTS of different conditions!

I know some of you almost have to travel, and some of you
just like to travel, and that's great. But we just lost SoCal
here, and someone is trying to find a new place to get
racing in OC again. That's my only point, we have to
support what's going on in our area. For us, that's Pegasus,
Hot Rod's Hobbies, and the new place when it gets up and
running!!

I hear ya, and we are up in Enid during the cold of the winter, sometime wrecking our real cars on the way lol.. and when its 100 deg inside us offroad guys are still there. The oval guys show up for 3 months a year and then most of them are at the lake or at the local dirt track the rest of the time. We had Raceplace here in north okc for awhile, but it closed. That place got where they didnt work on the track any. At that time I was driving up 2.5 hours to enid, and hour and half to that place. Comp on the south side is 15 minutes away. But after years of running offroad and onroad they switched to full oval. Many of us bought other cars to race there but it just wasnt the same. Action is on the SE side but they are all nitro. I talked to them about even just practicing with an electric truck out there and he didnt act like he wanted my business. I just wanted a local place to run some laps, but I guess my business wasnt wanted. Our region is just weird. Now that ive bought a house, I dont think ill be moving anywhere else anytime soon.

OH MY !!! That's just awful!! We are 10 minutes from Pegasus,

40 minutes from Hot Rod's, and maybe an hour from the new

place. At most, I think we travel 2 and a half hours to one

of the tracks in the JBRL.

Yeah I have been as close to 5 min from a track. Now Peg is 30-40min. depending on traffic. HRH is 1-2hr again on traffic. I just really miss the indoor part where you could always go get some track time. The outdoor tracks are usually not open as late and it is cold out there (for us wussy southern californian's!)

Yahoo Weather says no rain until Sunday. So it looks like we might get in some racing somewhere. Who's in. A couple of you need some track time before the Cactus You know who you are. Maybe James will post something on the Pegasus thread.

I am going to try and get to the track in the morning to get some practice in. Maybe get there when they open the track and get some runs in. I have to be home by about 3 though so no racing!

Me and Ten might come up next weekend. How are the stk and 19 classes up there???. We would come up this weekend but there's an FHR series race.
