Default TB02R--loosely fitted tyres?

just got this newly released kit and found the tyre to be very loose when fitted to the wheels (a lot of slack--unlike the snug fit that we are so used to).
Anyone else with this issue? Thx for reading.

The tyres are Tamiya type A ..... if you overstretch them while fitting onto the rims, there will be quite a gap.

Anyway, I'll go check mine to see if got same problem.

.....later !

bluz...that is the charecter of the type a..it has slightly more gap in the tires for more air gap in the inserts...type a are meant for coll whether which i suggest you keep it aside for the carpet races or night bashing and get a set of type b's or b3 to play with in the day..

Kelvin, I think Bluz meant the gap between the rims and tyre where you normally put the CA

Okay, I've check mine and there is no gap bigger than 0.5 mm.
After fiddling with it awhile, I managed to get >1mm gap when the inserts got outta place and pushed the tyres out.
Check if your inserts are seating properly.

Cheers !

ps: Actually, I'm quite disappointed with the 02R.
........Where's the alloy motor mount, what happened to the alloy steering parts.....

Oh well, I guess theres always the TB02 TRF to look forward to !

Tk u Kelvin and Ghostfit for yr responses and tips.
Yes i was refering to the slightly bigger gap than normal between the rims and the tyres. No matter--will get those b's as suggested while i save these for display.

**as for the 02R--i guess its how Tamiya want to position this car--which is at the mid range price--so not having the rest of the hop-ups is understandable (but still disappointed none the less...). So i just got the alloy motor mount, the body stiffener yesterday.

Default Loosely fit tires

Khng, i have checked Bluz's tires, they are "very loosely" fit leh, not the "loose" fit.

hmm...guess thats the tbo2r alan....the r is just a racing chassis....the 04r also didn't come with those stuffs...but i be getting one soon so maybe we can discuss about the car and setups soon when i get it up for the next race....but i understand how you feel...

as for the tires type a..guess they were just molded like that..but they can stick on well nicely seated..just don't forget to use a rubber band...we have been using them for years at the asiacup..and yes...it was a pain glueing them...save them for the carpet tac finals....

Default Tb02R chassis material?

Hi TB02R owners,

Is the TB02R plastic chassis material made of the same stock TB02 kit or is it the light weight carbon plastic similar to TA04R?
