Singapore 1/5 scale

1/5th ifmar rules or not?
Hiya 1/5thers
It's brilliant that you chaps are pushing for a new class of rc fun and racing.
For racing purposes, will the group adhere to current ifmar rules or localized house rules? I'm only asking cos racing classes can be affected if the community is split, due to personal equipment investments.
For instance, 23cc engine owners may not want to run against 26cc owners, or 2wd against 4wd... And so forth. Using the ifmar rules might make for easier community growth, in the long run...

Hi Guys,
As Singapore is at it's infant stage of 1/5 Scale On-Road Racing, we sincerely hope that the organising committee will not post too many restrictions thus limiting the number of cars for racing.
It's just a club race. Main purpose is to gather all 1/5 scale drivers and have a good time. We are not running a world championship. Hopefully Along the way, we can set a local house rules.
Be is 2WD or 4WD, both has it's advantages n disadvantages. But what I know is that only 2WD is only allowed in most races around the world.
It also doesn't mean that a 26cc engine will perform better than a 23cc engine. Not forgetting there are highly modified 23cc engines... End of the day, it zooms down to whether u are able to get the best gearing ratio running at our 'Lostallo style' PA Track... Hehehe.
We will sort this matter with the committee before our first race. We will update once we have any info.
Hopefully all 1/5 scale drivers will watch this thread regularly and bring up the 1/5 scale racing scene in Singapore soon. So, get all your cars out from the storeroom and start running at PA track at top speed! Who knows. The next Singapore Invitational Race may include the 1/5 scale!
We also overheard that RCMC has intention to resurface the track very soon.. Great news!
Sincerely looking forward to a big 1/5 scale on road gathering soon before our first race.
Cheers!

A bit off topic but just wanted to find out how does one gain access into the PA track?
Am looking at the Traxxas XO-1 and running it there

I ordered one from extreme rc ! Getting excited to get my hand on it. It's been a while since I had one. Just play or race with our existing equipment first!

Hi Guys.
Just seen your thread on 1/5th in Singapore. Well done guys it is great to see more countries getting involved in 1/5th scale. Especially on road. If you are looking for any info on what we do in Australia regarding 1/5th on road look us up at www.teamvodafone1-5th.com or search for us on Facebook. Any knowledge we know i am sure we would be more than happy to share with you. After all if we can grow our sport to be more widely recognised the better it will be.

Wow...! We now even have professionals around the world viewing our 1/5 Scale forum!
Thanks for the encouragement Teamvodafone1-5... Certainly your vast knowledge in 1/5 scale will help build up our 1/5 scale racing scene in Singapore..
If you are able to participate in our 1/5 scale invitational race in the future, it would be even better.. : )
By the way, is there a forum where we can keep ourselves posted on the 1/5 scale racing scene and race schedule in Australia?
Regards
