Understand some users were asking why after running a while the Hobbywing ESC shows Green and Red blinking, the reason for this is because of the sensor, the ESC detect abnormal signal from the motor.

It could be due to
- Damage sensor wire
- Damage motor sensor board

I personally encounter the problem once and after changing sensor board on the BL motor, it's working fine again. Beware of timing advanced as advancing too much might damage the motor, check temperature and set to the correct timing/gearing before bring it for a race.

Thx Edwin for helping to clear things up.

hi there
i just bought a xerun combo with a 120A speed control and a 5.5T 6000kv sensored motor.
do you know what gearing ratio this motor needs to run problem free so i can gear my car?

heh mousou,

Are you using the above combo on 1/10 touring or offroad car?

Look at the manual given on Page 7

http://www.hobbywing.com/upload/manual/CarESC_e.pdf

As per manual for 5.5T,
Onroad: FDR-8 to 9.4
Offroad: FDR-10 to 12

FDR: Final Drive Ratio.

For those who are using xerun 120amp esc & got weak brakes may I know what firmware u guys are using?

hobbywing is asking to solve this issue.

Thank you all for the assistance....;)

after helping me find out the proper gearing the xerun needs my next problem is what PINION to use to succeed this gearing ratio....

I own a KYOSHO TF-5 stallion (just finished assembling it)
and i am waiting for the XERUN to arrive .....
I intend to use it with a 3 cell lipo....
The stock spur gear is 64P-106T and the cars internal gear ratio is 2.5 : 1
XERUN needs 8-9.4 : 1
How do i do the math to find out how many teeth the pinion gear should be???

Really really sorry if i messed your heads with so many questions but everybody has got to start learning somehow.....
thank you all....

Wow looks like you are trying to have a Drag Car.

SuperEk4 04-22-2010 04:18 PM

Bro I used to hv that car! It's a great car, on 2s it's already very very fast on 3s it's undriveable! N I think the gear ratio is meant for 2s not 3.

This car has a steering problem it understeer. The faster the worst.

At 3s the wear n tear is huge n spares is rare.

I hv some left over spares if u want to buy.[ QUOTE=mousou;7306158]1st
