To assist everyone to better understand Mini Z, we have come out with a brief FAQ on this growing hobby in Singapore

FAQ1: About Mini Z

What is Mini Z?

Mini-Z is a brand name for a popular line of 1:27-scale electric R/C Car manufactured by Kyosho. The wheelbase of a Mini Z range between 86mm to 106mm (Though most popular is 94mm follow by 98mm).

What are the types of Mini-Z commonly played in Singapore?

Below are the most commonly played Mini Z R/C vehicle:

RWD (Rear Wheel Drive) – Currently popular chassis includes the latest MR-03 & value for money MR-02EX. Both Chassis are controlled by a 2.4ghz transmitter. Primary methods of playing includes official touring on track and impromptu racing in various locations (e.g. MSCP, void deck, basketball/ soccer court e.t.c)

AWD (All Wheel Drive) – Currently latest chassis is MA-015 but there are still many racers who are still playing the older MA-010 chassis. Both Chassis are controlled by a 2.4ghz transmitter. Primary methods of play includes Touring and/or drifting. Due to its ideal size and precise handling, there are a huge number of players drifting with Mini Z AWD in their own living room.

Buggy – Small in size but big in fun. Like its bigger counterpart, Mini z Buggy are played in almost all type of surfaces & terrain.

Other Types of Mini-Z includes Formula 1, Dnano (An even smaller version of Mini Z at scale of 1:43), Mini Z Motorbike (Coming soon)

Why do people like to play Mini Z??

1. Playable in doors in many areas (not weather dependent)

2. Playable at home

3. Easily transported

4. Small but precise

5. Comparatively lower maintenance cost (E.g. Cheaper Batteries, Pinon, Spur)

6. Fun!

7. Trains concentration

8. Good RC driving training tool

9. Tough & Resilient

Who are suitable to play Mini-Z?

No age limit, but suggested for 10 yrs old and above. But we do have young and energetic kids below the age of 10 racing surprisingly well on track.

Father & sons having fun on track!

What is the difference between the 2 main chassis type? (MR02EX & MR03)

One of the most common questions we received in our shop from new racers are - What is the difference between MR02EX and MR03?

Well to simplify explanations and provide a better visual reference for them, we have come out with the below Chassis comparison.

Now that you are aware of the differences, come experience both at our shop today!

Disclaimer: Product attributes are based on common opinions gotten from our experience in house racers, they are not technically tested and thus should only be used as a generic reference

Race Announcement

Min Z World Series Season 3 Race No. 2

Dear all,

We are pleased to announced the completion of our Mini Z World Series Season 3 Race No. 2 last Sunday!

This race has proved to be the best in recent years in terms of fun and excitement. Hotlap qualifying & handout motor for stock class - Both a first time initiative is well received and all racers had a cracking time trying to outdo one another.

Below are some of the racing actions... We will like to take this chance to congratulate Dave Tang for coming first in both Stock and Mod class in superb timing. Even with handout motor, he has proved to be the best Mini Z racer in Singapore (And maybe, just maybe, the world as well)

Mess during the race.... Batteries anyone?

Race Director Alan Leung making preparations for the race.

Handout 70T motors prepared for the race (Stock Class)

Hot Lap Qualifying in progress! Early comers got a more empty track and achieve better lap time. Wake up early does have benefits!

A Main drivers squaring it off!

Race Director checking car weight after run to ensure it meets race specifications. Underweight cars will be DQ immediately

Besides being checked for weight, size are also checked to ensure compliance and a fair race

We truly believe everyone had a great time and we will continue this momentum and look forward to Race No. 3 at the end of this month!

2013 Mini Z World Series Season 3 Race 1

We are pleased to announced that we have successfully conducted our first race of 2013 - Mini Z World Series Season 3 Race No. 1

One of our Main Aim in 2013 is to instill a higher sense of professionalism in our Races. Therefore the following improvements have been introduced in this year's race

1. Appointment of an independent professional Race Director to oversee the entire race and handle dispute

2. Open up the race track format only for 4 days prior to the race to achieve a better balance among seasoned drivers and casual drivers. Nobody has a better headstart than others.

3. Lap counter system is disabled during race practices to enhance race preparations proceedings

4. Stringent Weight & Dimensions checks are performed by the Race Director after every round to ensure all race cars comply to the race specifications. Any failure to comply will result in immediate DQ.

5. Opened up both Open Class and Stock Class

The Race Format & layout

Qualifying - 3 x 5mins qualifying session for both classes. Results will classify drivers among the various mains.

Main Race - Each main will race 3 x 10min race. Combination of results from all 3 rounds will determine race winners.

i have used the 8858 fets and also 4562 fets.... 4562 is excellent for stock class due to its more punchy throttle response while 8858 makes extra hot motors more tame at the initial phase of throttling... power wise, all are the same but 4562 might give u the illusion that it has slightly more due to its punchy response...

So which is good? >>> its really to own preference and driving style....

and fred is selling them at good prices, i am grabbing some if you dont....

Which is why we have been promoting them since day 1.

There is also another kind of FET which is a in-between 4562 and 8858s..

Yes and no in a way. It depends on how you do your throttle settings on your TX.

Katze, yes you are right, it prob boils down to driver preference and driving style.
