On a personnal point of view, it would cost more damage to the car if the island is design that way. If there is a car on the top speed making a mistake and enters into one of this island, i dare not imagine what would happen to that particular car.

Just my 2 cents anyway. I would still go to that track and have fun too. Hee hee.

P/s : They could put in artificial grass into the island to minimise car damage. Again. Just my 2 cents view

This track is designed to train better drivers, preventing cutting corners and jump track during race and practice. Improving racer's driving skill is the main objective. We will consider your idea of putting some form of cushion in the island to minimize the damage to those "flying cars" due to "mistakes"...

The track looks abit confusing......izzit something like the margret drive track..???
will the island looks anything similiar to the todays mart track or ex rm track......it is more forgiving... no offence to the track designer....just some idea only.
btw good job for all those guys that make this a happening track.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYBODY..

Cool Hello Phantom, here's wishing you and all a Happy & Prosperous 2004

This track is designed to train better drivers, preventing cutting corners and jump track...[/B]
When I first saw the layout, I had some comments, however, I realised that I would probably have been too old to design the latest tracks anyway, so I finally did not post a reply. Now that you come out with more pictures, I guess this is the least I should point out to you:

If the islands are not filled, you get small little ponds which we rear gold fishes in. The other thing would happen would be that the water will seep out slowly though the cement and constantly keep the track wet at certain points.

Just my 2 cents worth. Please don't flame me.

All the best and you can be sure I would be amongst those who would be eager to try out the track.

Thanks & Best Regards
phlim

Thanks for your comment Phlim, but if you look closely at the previous island picture you will notice that there are some cuts around the island's perimeters that alows the water to flow out.
Initially we thought of inserting few PVC pipes in the slope area but that would create some holes on the slope. Foam tires might get torn by these holes during cornering and the car's handling might be effected as well.
The track design is still in the initial stage, please feel free to give any comments to improve it further.
