Was at the new track just now. Info I got so far;

1. Shop expected to be open on Wed.
2. Onroad track designing and testing in progress. Final marking to be completed tonite.
3. Off-road, in a few weeks.
4. Crawler, in a few weeks.
5. Pit Area, in a few weeks.
6. Vending Machine in position.
7. Toilet, a lot closer now.
8. Driver's stand - probably 20 drivers can play at the sametime.
9. Onroad track - lights in position, so expect night race.
10. Onroad track - Drivers' stand overhead not ready yet.
11. Onroad track - Permanent layout with block off options. No high islands, small curbs and painted apex.

In short, it will be worth the wait. On-road, Off-road and Crawler, simply awesome!

Folks

Entrance to Bottle Tree Park by car is from Lorong Chencharu which is off Semawang Road, opposite Sembawang Airbase. If coming by foot/MRT/bus, there is a gate to access the park from Yishun Ave 2, opposite Yishun Stadium.

Hope to see everyone at the new track/s when ready.

Yes, Khatib MRT Station is about 10 mins walk away from the gate. Probably about same distance from MRT station to the old Margaret Drive track. Bus stop even nearer.

+ On the way to the track to play, spirits high, looking forward to a good bashing day - 7 mins

+ On the way home from the track after bending a U-joint, among other damages, with the familiar Sunday "book-in-to-camp" feeling - 13 mins

So, on average .... 10 mins

For those taking mrt/bus.

Option 1
1) Alight at Khatib MRT, cross the road.
2) Take either 39, 85, 558, 851, 852, 853, 854, 855, 857, 858, 965, 969.
3) Alight at the next bus stop - Yishun Sports Hall.
4) Cross the road via the pedestrian bridge.
5) Walk for about 2 mins to Bottle Tree's entrance.
6) Walk another 5 mins while enjoying the scenery, watch people fishing prawn.
7) ... arrive at our new RC haven!!!

Option 2 (to avoid carrying our heavy precious pit bag up and down the pedestrian bridge)

1) Alight at Yio Chu Kang MRT, cross the road.
2) Take either 851, 852, 853
3) Alight opposite Yishun Sports Hall. (about 8 stops)
(5) - (7) as above.

in short, going is like having a new fully charged batt pack, returning like a pack with no punch.

Bottletree should organise like a shuttle bus from the MRTs.
