4) GT2400 - Features GT racers with resin chassis & Lightly Tuned motor. Corresponds to GT2, Stock and Top-Stock classes.
TB-02, TT01, FF02 and TA05.

5) GT3700 -Features high-speed double-deck chassis GT cars. Corresponds to GT1, 4WGT, Super Stock and Euro-GT classes.

As for the classes for 2008 TAC Qualifying in Singapore , confirmed classes would be
1) Stock Touring
2) M Chassis
3) 4WD GT
4) Buggy
5) F103GT (to be decide ,as TAC Finals did not have this class)

Rules and regulations are still at work ,but we are securing venues for indoors carpet races next year.
Not to worry the circuit area will be much larger than Henderson CC.

Will post new updates as soon as it is available.

hiya LAW,

seems like the TAC in japan is more biased towards high-end racing. would be nice to have similar classes, but i can see how it might not be the best idea, seeing as how there is only one track, of sufficient size, available to run the faster classes.

maybe tamtech racing? would be really cool if space is a consideration.

oh well, we have lots of time till the races start anyways.

have fun always!

Sorry, but u said that batteries are only open to ni-cd and ni-mah cell batteries. So, we can use slick or non-slick batteries packs. Although last year TAC ,we only can use slick packs. Right?

To qualify for Japan Tamiya World Championship, u must first win a class in Tamiya Asia Cup.

To qualify TAC u need to qualify in Singapore Tamiya Asia Qualifying Championship.

In TAC, there are only Stock, GT, Buggy and Mini. therefore no point to hold the GT2400 and GT3700 in SG, right?

chk707. This year, stock and mini class is the only classes that requires stick pack.

GT and Buggy can use either side by side batteries or stick pack.

So i tink for 2008, it should be the same

Hello Andrew,

No problem man, hope you are feeling much better now. Weather nowadays.... sigh.

Thank you for the much elaborated explaination regarding the Tamiya Worlds Championship 2007.

But the way Tamiya run the TAC is rather funny. Shouldn't the classes be exactly as in the Tamiya Worlds?

The buggy, M-chassis and GT Victory are straight forward. Not so for GT2400 & GT3700.

GT2400, you have Lightly Tuned motor on either TB-02, TT01, FF02 or TA05.
GT3700, you have any double deck chassis with 23T motor I presume.

If Kelvin Khng were to win the TAC, what class will he be in? GT3700?
If that is the case he would be racing against other TRF chassis with his TA05. That would be a disadvantage to him right?

If Alistair were to win the Stock, he may be racing against some TA05s in the Tamiya Worlds. That again is a disadvantage.

Any enlightenment? Not trying to create chaos, just curious that's all.

Looking forward for more bigger carpet races next year!!!

yo clk.

From this year World Championship, it seems that the GT class winner in Taiwan is in the GT3700 and the Stock Class winner is in GT2400.

I think it will be the same.

For USA, their Tamiya Championship Series(TCS) is also different from the Tamiya World Championship and even more confusing They got:
  • Stock: TL01, TL-01 LA and TT-01. Mabuchi motor

  • GT-3: TB-01, TB-02, TB-02R TA-04, TA-05, TA-05 IFS, TL-01, TL-01 LA, TT-01, TT-01R, TA-02, TA-03, FF-01 and FF-02. Mabuchi motor

  • GT-2: Tub chassis cars only, no carbon plate double deck chassis' allowed.
  • All Tamiya TA, TB and TL series sedan chassis' (TA01, TA02, TA03, TA04, TA-05, TA-05 IFS, TL01, TT-01, TB01 & TB02, TB-02R (Tub chassis), FF01, FF02).
  • Any ROAR legal rebuild ready 27-Turn, 24-degree stock motor is legal for GT-2.
  • NEW for 2008! The following 13.5 Brushless motors available from Novak, LRP, Orion and Trinity are now legal for TCS racing in GT-2.

  • GT-1: All Tamiya TA, TB, EVO, 414, 415, 416 and TL series sedan chassis' (TA01, TA02, TA03, TA04, TA-05, TL01, TT-01, TB01, TB-02, TB-02R, TB Evo 1,2,3,4,5 MS, FF01, FF02, 414M, 414MII & 415, 415MS, 415MSX, 415MSX MRE, 415MSXX, 416).
  • SPEC 19Turn Ball bearing motors are allowed for the GT-1 Class. Examples of these types of motors are; Team Orion Element Spec 19T, Reedy #509 Spec 19T, Reedy #513 Quad-Magnet 19T Spec, Check Point "Money" and the Trinity Chameleon 2 Spec 19T.
  • NEW for 2008! The following 10.5 Brushless motors available from Novak, LRP, Orion and Trinity are now legal for TCS racing in GT-1

Default sweet geesas!

holy crap!

but i think the fact that they have a gt1 class is pretty wicked!

at least it means the peeps who have bought high end kits get to play and race instead of just bash (or wait for annual international races , like TITC, eh kenneth? nudge nudge)

i suppose time and money are constraints that stargek has to consider as well.

here is wishing you all the best and merry christmas! what ever you guys decide on, ima sure it will be fun fun fun, just like the past years.

this coming year though, can we have better ramps for buggy? the ramps are just too short. the gradient and ramp length makes the buggies bottom out their suspension on the ramp, so when they land, there isn't enough suspension throw to absorb the impact.

If the winner in Taiwan were entered into GT3700, means he actually ran his TA05 with some 415s from USA, Europe, Africa, South America, Antartica, Oceania, Japan.. etc Asia will forever be at a disadvantage. That's really intriguing.

I have read of the vast classes TCS has in the Tamiya USA website.
Which I envy. Maybe Stargek can split the GT 4WD class;
GT2 - any tub chassis 23T
GT1 - any chassis open modified

But I do agree with foampervert on 2 points;

- that stargek got to consider the finance and time. Not to mention, number of participants if they do open up more classes.

- owners of high end TRF kits get to race them instead of just bashing.

Perhaps a poll just to check out the market demand would be good?

Anyway, all up to Stargek. Just make it fun and exciting!! Looking forward.

Merry Xmas!

Checkout the post by linger.

Guess I was wrong, TA05 vs TRF415 is a fair challenge after all.
If a kid driving a TA05R can outqualified Marc Reinhard and Victor Wilick in all four rounds of qualifying, it's either this kid is Masami's son or TA05 is just equally good if not better than any other high-end chassis.
